My go-to for Houston stay! First timer in Houston and really enjoyed the welcoming mood from the staff, as well as how effective valet parking staff were. Location is ideal since it has tram/train access around the corner and completely walkable. Areas around were great for eatery (kudos to Flying Saucer). Tourists: a room is a refuge from your busy activities (work or pleasure related), so having a beautiful renovated building with ease is great! Things to keep in mind: you can hear room neighbor pipes/water running and bathroom conversations. HOWEVER, room is nicely furnished and bathrooms are lovely! Loving how hotel uses eco-green toiletries from a small business! Definitely staying again!

When we first arrived at the hotel our room had a strong odour of chlorine - worse than an indoor swimming pool. There was also some leftover poop in the toilet from a previous guest. We went down to the front desk and the man was hesitant to change our rooms and rather offered to have someone spray a deodorizer. We ended up getting another room which was stuffy and had little to no airflow. It was fine for the night but I would not stay there again. The elevators were also extremely outdated.
