Luxury air-conditioned apartment in Carré d’Or, 200m from beach, 2 balconies

Auriel is a luxury, contemporary, air-conditioned apartment in the heart of Nice's chic (and safe) Carré d'Or district. Moments from the beach (200m), Auriel is in the upmarket pedestrian street which is packed with great cafes, restaurants and boutiques that are open all year round. A short stroll away is the daily market, the old town, Place Massena, museums, casinos and top hotels.

Ideally suited to a family or couples looking to relax in luxury surroundings.

Completely renovated recently, the flat is on the 4th floor (with lift) of a well-maintained block. The flat is spacious, light and airy and has two balconies: a south-facing balcony where we have breakfast and cocktails overlooking old bourgeois buildings at the front and the buzz of Rue de France, and the other is off the master bedroom overlooking the peaceful gardens of the church (no bells!).

The bright, open-plan lounge/dining area and fully-equipped kitchen (Bosch appliances and a Nespresso coffee machine) faces south and opens onto a sunny balcony which has a table and chairs for four and a retractable awning – a great spot for morning coffee and croissants or pre-dinner cocktails. The lounge has a comfortable L-shaped sofa, flat-screen TV with access to 200+ channels including BBC World News and BBC Entertainment, and free wifi internet access. Beside the kitchen is a dining table which takes four comfortably, extendable to six.

The master bedroom suite has its own bathroom and walk-in wardrobe. Both the bedroom and en-suite have French windows opening onto a balcony. The large master bathroom has a shower/bath, hand basin, WC and heated towel rail. The WC in this bathroom is a Sanicompact macerator.

The second bedroom is almost the same size as the master (a difference of centimetres) and has a generous shower room next door with hand basin and heated towel rail. A separate WC with hand basin is close by.

The main bedroom has a super-king (180 x 200cm) bed and the second bedroom has two good quality 90 x 200cm beds which can be made up as super-kings. The bedrooms both have bedside tables and lamps, chair, hairdryer, plenty of storage and are decorated in neutral tones of soft grey and white. Electric shutters provide total darkness if you want it. Overlooking tranquil gardens at the back of the flat, both bedrooms are quiet.

In the entrance hall is a storage/coat cupboard, a utility cupboard with washing machine, and a separate WC with hand basin.

For the cooler months, the flat has central heating.

Bus and tram stops, municipal car parking and car rental are all within a short walk – important if you want to visit Monaco, St Paul de Vence, Cap Ferrat or Cannes during your stay! The journey from the airport takes a maximum of 15 minutes. Everything you’ll need in terms of supermarkets, boulangeries, patisseries and pharmacies is close by.

HOW TO GET TO THE APARTMENT
Nice International Airport is situated close to the city. The tram runs from the airport to the centre of Nice. The nearest stop to our apartment is Jean Medecin.

Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the Airport which will cost approximately 35 euros.

Our local English/French speaking representative will meet you on arrival at the apartment, explain the facilities and give you the keys.

PARKING:
The apartment does not have parking. The nearest public car park is called ‘Palais Mediterranée’ which is located approximately 50m away beside the apartment on Rue de Congrés. Special priced passes can be purchased at the parking office on arrival.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
All rental prices quoted are inclusive of the taxe de sejour (French stay tax). The Property Fee covers the end of stay clean, meet and greet, bed linen for the MAIN bedroom & bath towels for 2 people only. ** PLEASE ADVISE US AT THE TIME OF BOOKING HOW YOU WOULD LIKE THE MAIN BEDROOM MADE UP - EITHER AS 2 SINGLES OR 1 KING DOUBLE BED **

The following charges apply for extra linens which can be ordered from us at the booking stage and paid for on arrival:

Late apartment arrival charge will apply for arrivals from 8pm. Please note that it will take you approximately one hour from the time your plane lands to reach the apartment.

Our stay in the apartment was wonderful. We couldn’t have asked for a better location. The apartment is modern and has all the amenities we needed for a two week stay. I sometimes have trouble sleeping on vacation but not in this apartment. The beds were so comfortable- with extra pillows and high end bedding - and the windows all had blackout shutters. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony each morning. Also, the the owners went out of their way to make sure our stay was great. Highly recommend!

The apartment was beautiful had an amazing balcony overlooking the pedestrian street. Bed was comfy, kitchen was well stocked. Lots of room. Nice to have all of the stuff to take to the beach. It is close to the promenade and beach. Tons of restaurants and shops. Old town. Can walk to everything. We went for the Ironman race and it was the perfect location for this. Tina was amazing to work with. Check in with her was great. She was available to help us and answer questions. Would definitely stay again. Highly recommend!!

Truly new renovation in the best location
My wife and I were taking her parents out of the US for their very first time and we wanted it to be perfect and it was. We have stayed at many newly renovated VRBOs before but not at this level. All new appliances, fixtures and integrated heating/cooling systems (not a unit hanging on the wall). The apartment features the largest hot water heater I have ever seen in any of the European VRBOs and never got cool in the mornings with four adults rushing to begin our day. Location was the best. Any closer to the beach and you would be next to a highway. One block off the beach and even better, the street was without cars, like an open mall with the most popular restaurants and shops. After our folks were worn out from long days of touring, they really enjoyed their time on the balcony over looking the busy pedestrian street. The apartment was so quiet that our folks often slept past 11:00. This is a destination in itself!

Wonderful vacation!
The apartment proved to be a comfortable and superbly located base from which to explore Nice on foot and access buses, trams and trains to many destinations along the Cote d’Azur. We especially loved sitting on the sunny balcony overlooking the colourful, bustling Rue de France with its numerous shops and restaurants. Although busy and entertaining to watch during the day, it was very quiet at night. Communication was excellent at all times with the owner and property manager. Great written information was provided about the apartment and area including details of an English speaking doctor who saved our vacation after a medical emergency. There’s a fantastic bakery across the street and a great supermarket round the corner. Not only can you cook your own meals in the well-equipped kitchen but there are many places you can buy prepared takeout food to eat at home or you can visit the many restaurants in the neighbourhood. You definitely don’t need a car. We are already looking forward to our next stay at Auriel in 2025.

1 week stay with 4 family members
Had a wonderful week's stay in this apt, centrally located in Carré d'Or area on pedestrian street with all the necessities such bakeries, supermarkets and pharmacies. La Promenade des Anglais, Place Magenta, Place Masséna, rue Jean Médecin and even Vieux-Nice were all just minutes away on foot via flat ground (unlike Cimiez), which was perfect for elderly persons with mobility issues (there was also an elevator). We even found many good restaurants in the vicinity. Apt. itself is immaculate and quite spacious, with excellent thought having gone into its layout and function. The bedrooms with large windows on quieter side of the building overlook St. Trinité church and its pretty cemetery, receive morning sun. On other side of wide hallway is the open plan dining room, kitchen and living room with balcony receiving afternoon sun. The balcony has furniture and enough room to comfortably allow for outdoor meals, l'apéro hour or reading. It was a lovely feature we used a lot. The apartment is painted in white and decor is tasteful, neutral and calming. Lightning through out is plentiful, adjustable and in the right spots. The kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals, with plenty of china, new Miele appliances and a dining table that can be extended. A big TV with many channels and wifi both work. There is a washing machine and clothes horse for doing laundry, a basket with wheels to do your grocery shopping, and even vases for visits to Cours Saleya flower market!

Perfect way to explore a great city
A perfect property to enjoy all that Nice has to offer! The property is clean, open, and very comfortable. Very well appointed with a fully stocked kitchen, you can look forward to cooking meals without missing a single tool or utensil. The beds and bedrooms are comfortable with amazing storage. The location is ideal! Walking distance to everything, with restaurants, cafes, and stores right at your doorstep but not loud. Easy walk to the tram for further exploration or the beach for relaxation. The owner and property manager are very helpful, kind and quick to communicate so have no worries. We’ve stayed in this apartment before when visiting Nice and it continues to be an excellent base, with everything we could need for a relaxing break. Communication with Jackie and the folks who look after the apartment was just as easy as last time. The location of this apartment really is great - within minutes you can be walking along the beach or in the middle of Nice’s major shopping streets. It’s also only 10 mins walk to the station - where we decided this time to take the train to Cannes for the day (last time was Monaco). This apartment is truly an excellent place to stay in Nice and we strongly recommend it.

We stayed at this modern inside but historic outside property! It was the “best” location for walking, trains etc! Best restaurants and shopping nearby. This property was well stocked and equipped with supplies (which is rare). The property was very secure. Loved it! We would stay there again and would recommend this property.

Modern well equipped apartment in a great location
A weeks stay in this modern well located apartment , 5 minutes from Nice beach ; great patisserie across the road . The air conditioned apartment was a blessing as the temperatures were 35 degrees plus . The property manager Tina was very helpful as was Jackie the owner . Slight negatives were stains on the bed linen , towels were quite hard and old , not expected for a luxury apartment . The toilet seat was broken when we arrived and only got a temporary fix ,

This was a perfect choice for a family of four. Located in the center of Nice, in a very safe block - despite the location, there was almost no noise at night. The apartment has all the amenities you could want, and is in very new/clean condition. Communications were straightforward and welcoming throughout. Very happy, thank you.
