Our first room had a mattress that had collapsed on one side and I kept falling out of bed. Mentioned it was our anniversary and paid for a celebration packages but it was put in our room too early and without the champagne which was part of the package price. Accommodation is in poor state of repair with worn carpets and damaged furniture which we didn’t expect from a 5 star inn. Deliveries were at 7.30-8am so no sleep ins for our stay as deliveries were loud and inconsiderate to quests.

We stayed in an updated deluxe room. Adults down and kids upstairs. The carpet leading into the rooms is worn but otherwise the rooms are in good order with a nice soaking tube downstairs. The included breakfast was excellent but the pub is lacking in character and was disappointing when we wanted an evening drink or snack. The amenities are somewhat limited and I’d call this a 4-star establishment. Location was ideal for exploring the countryside and we would stay again.

Beautiful Place
What a lovely place in a beautiful English country town, we loved it. Drove around Cotswold, great county roads. Glad we came. The Inn is great, had the junior suite, just right, not over the top, good place to relax.

Loved it!
It was difficult to find reception. There was no clear sign. The regular reception person was on break and the person filling in was great! Super friendly and took me to my room. The room was quite nice, but there were cobwebs and a few baby spiders coming down the wall. I understand that this property is in the country and "nature" can find it's way inside. But, I think that dusting or having staff pay closer attention to the obvious cobwebs would be nice. The grounds were totally amazing! Very well maintained and very open. Quite like a park. The carpark has quite narrow spots, so that created some creative parking. Wish they would eliminate a few spaces and make the spots larger. The meal service was great! The staff was attentive and very friendly and professional. Food itself as perfect! Presented nicely and was cooked perfectly.

Quaint & wonderful inn
My husband & I stayed in The Slaughter Country Inn for 5 nights during our visit to the Cotswolds. The service at the inn, along with in their restaurant, was top-notch. The meals at the inn were excellent, much better than we have experienced in most inns in the U.S. The cottage that we stayed in was roomy and comfortable with a living room downstairs and a bedroom and bathroom upstairs. They put bottled waters and cookies to accompany our tea or coffee in the room every day. Additionally, we enjoyed staying in Lower Slaughter as it is one of the quieter villages in the Cotswolds. I highly recommend staying at this inn. Thank you for a lovely stay.
