I went on a short vacation with some of my friends and we stayed in one of the non-hostel rooms. The room was spacious and clean, though a little worn out due to the building`s age. The staff was very friendly and even though we could speak Japanese with them, they tried their best to speak English before knowing that. The hotel is foreigner friendly.
The included breakfast was simple but delicious. There was enough food and variety to make me and my friends content until lunch time.
A word of caution: there are no private baths in this hotel. You must use the hot spring if you want to take a shower. This was not a problem for my group because we went to Beppu to go to the hot springs. I did not personally use the one in the hotel, but my friends did and they said it was good.
The hotel does have free parking, but there aren`t that many parking spaces so please keep that in mind if you are bringing a car.
This hotel is located close to a train station, the ocean, and many famous hot springs, which makes the location great. If you are going to some of the further tourist locations in Beppu, the proximity to the train station makes it easy to catch a bus.
In conclusion, this hotel was a good find, especially for the price!
