I’m very disappointed in myself for missing that this was a Motel (instead of a Hotel). I’m not a fan of Motels because of the lack of security and this one confirmed that. The door has an electronic keypad with a code a 4 year old could guess. And if they didn’t guess, the 4 year old could hip check the door open as it was so flimsy. And when you lock the door from the inside, the outside changes from vacant to occupied, so if someone was planning to break in, they’ll know exactly when to do so.
The bed had a crinkly waterproof mattress pad over the hardest “mattress” I’ve slept on since Girl Scout camp. I tossed and turned all night (the train every 15 minutes didn’t help either) and my hips/shoulders hurt in the morning.
On the plus side, the room itself was clean, had a big TV, and good toilet paper
