Amazing Loft with Parking and Deck above River Street by Lucky Savannah

Built in the 1800s, this historic loft was originally part of a cotton warehouse. It survived a major fire and turn as a vocational school before being completely remodeled to its current state as a luxury short-term rental.

Upon arrival you'll be able to utilize your private parking space directly in front of the home and head immediately upstairs to your urban oasis. The exposed brick you see as you ascend the stairs to the main level continues throughout the loft. Beams charred in the early 1900s add to the charm and warmth of this unique loft.

The full kitchen opens to the living room with a breakfast bar and an amazing view. You'll have everything you need to cook dinner or just to reheat some leftovers from one of the amazing restaurants at your doorstep. The beautiful living room with a comfortable linen sleeper sofa has a flat screen tv with cable, but with large picture windows and french doors to a small balcony, who needs tv?

A primary suite in the front of the home offers a true luxury experience with a Queen bed, seating area, and huge bathroom with a separate jetted tub and shower. The second bedroom, a cozy Queen, features original artwork, bold colors, and a large closet. The second full bath is right next to the bedroom, and has a tub/shower combination and plenty of counter space for getting ready for a night on the town.

When you're ready to enjoy the best view in Savannah, just head up your extra-wide stairs to the second floor to a huge rooftop deck with sweeping panoramic views of the Savannah River. Perfect Location but needs some work!
This home couldn't be in a better location! Within walking distance of Historic Savannah, River Street and all sorts of restaurants. It is a lovely space that is big and bright with amazing views! However there are a few maintenance issues that need to be addressed. We had to have the after-hours manager come and unlock the door as the batteries in the smart lock were dead. There also isn't any lighting at the base of the stairs, either inside or outside of the unit. You can see that there is a potlight there that is burnt out, but the ceilings are very high so you can't change it without a very tall ladder. The AC also struggles to keep up with the weather outside. The unit didn't get below 76° at any point during our stay. They have put a portable AC unit in the master bedroom, but it has to run on high all the time and is VERY noisy. We were also surprized by the lack of things in the kitchen. We picked up milk for our coffee in the morning but assumed that there would be sugar in the unit. We were wrong. There wasn't a single thing extra in the unit at all. We couldn't even find garbage bags. We've stayed at many VRBO locations and this was the first time we've ever encountered that. They have a very impressive surround sound system/DVD/CD unit in the living room, but there wasn't any instructions on how to work it, so we didn't get to enjoy that at all. All in all, the location made up for the few issues that we had. Thanks for hosting us!

Beautiful Unit, So Hot
We were blown away by how lovely this property was. The location was so convenient to River Street and we loved the rooftop terrace. The kitchen was well equipped and we appreciated finding toiletries in the bathrooms. One problem: it was HOT. We are from the South and we are used to high temps, but the air conditioning was very clearly not working, and management must have known already because there was a portable, freestanding ac unit placed in the master bedroom, but it wasn’t sufficient for that room let alone the entire condo. There was an oscillating floor fan in the second bedroom that didn’t work, but we found a box fan in the closet. Outside temps were around 90° the whole time we were there, so it would have been nice to be able to cool off and I would have considered it a perfect rental aside from this issue.

The view from the balcony and rooftop deck were beautiful! The location was perfect. It was within walking distance of the shops and restaurants which was convenient. The loft was very spacious as well. Definitely will come back!

Scenic loft
Property was very charming and a superb location. Right above River St. Old school brick interior and well appointed. Living spaces were decorated well. Mattresses must be replaced. Worst I've seen in a very long time. Super firm and sagged in the middle. Master bedroom is extremely hot as it faces the afternoon sun. They did have a fan, but it quit working.. Property manager did bring another one. Temp stayed around 80 in that room. The rest of the property was well cooled. It's not clear in the listing that you must go up a flight of 18 steps immediately inside the front door to get up to the living and sleeping space.

Nice location but needs updating
Beautiful location, great old building, wonderful views. However, the AC in one room was not working properly and about 10 degrees warmer than the rest of the condo. While it's rare to find any pull out couch that's overly comfortable, this one sloped about 15 degrees from the head to the foot with bars under shoulder blades and knees. We had to pull the mattress off and put it on the floor. They gave us the wrong code to get into the property and had to call a guy to come out and fix the lock. Check in was at 4. We waited until 4:45 to check in and the cleaning crew was still in the property. A number of issues like that.

Air conditioner in front bedroom didn’t work. Hot water didn’t work for 2 days. Tile in front bathroom was gone. Back bathroom had no closet except a storage room that was filthy. Front bedroom the closet door kept falling off. Door frame to small patio was rotted out at the bottom. Furniture was awful. Old, ripped and dirty. Getting into our condo was a mess. 3 different codes before we got in. Not a fun experience. The best and really the only good thing was the location and the industrial look. For the price I paid I want at least some refund.

Great Property!!
Great Location. We could easily walk to everything. Great view of River Street. Only a couple issues. The address we were given was not the correct street and the taxi driver could not find it. Ended up walking several blocks with our suitcases on the cobblestone streets. The door code was also not correct. We called the property manager and they were able to help us right away. We also had a problem with the plumbing with one of the bathrooms. The garden tub was taped off so we could not use it. We should have been made aware of that ahead of time. But then the shower was not working and they could not repair it as quickly as they hoped. So we were down to 1 shower for our entire stay. They did compensate me for the trouble. They were definitely on top of it, when we had any issues and tried to fix them as quickly as possible.

Everything was wonderful, but just wanted to mention one thing! As soon as you walk in, the entrance/entrance stairs carpet is holding an AWFUL pet/urine smell. You can’t miss it. Other than that, thanks for a great stay!

Quick getaway trip
The property was awesome and in a good location. It was clean and big & the property manager & teams were very responsive. NOTE: if you plan to use the jacuzzi in the master bedroom plan to take your shower an hour before or after you fill it as the hot water only last long enough to fill that just enough to cover the jets. The reason I only gave a 2 for check in process was due to the fact that our door code was typed in our email incorrectly. Then when we called we were told that we were in the wrong place & guided to a location in the lower alley. I said that we were in the right park # space & she said yes after you unload you will go back to that spot. The rep stayed on the ph w/us for about 20 - 25 min to guide us to the alley as she stated she has been there a lot & we have not. When we got there the code did not work & she said oh you must be at the wrong one as there are 2 rentals with that same room # done there. I reminded her that our email stated that our room was next to the double doors. The rep then said “ oh I am sorry I got confused, you were at the right room in the beginning. Let’s go back & try the code again. I tried again as written on the email (which I adv’d her we had already done several times) It d/n work so she gave us a new code which worked the 1st time. With all of this it took us an hour to check in. The water heater was broke so we called in the AM our 1st day & it was fixed by end of day. Pack w/small suitcases due to 19 steps to go up.

The location is fabulous… The unit had some issues… Things that didn’t work: Keurig coffee maker, icemaker and the microwave… There was a portable temporary air conditioner in the master bedroom and the Wi-Fi was out most of the time!

Read the reviews before you book!
I wish I had read the reviews before I booked the property. The front door keypad did not work when I arrived and I spent an hour or more waiting to get it while they tried to figure out what to do. They knew it was a problem because it was mentioned in other reviews, but didn’t do anything about it. We finally waited while one of the property managers went to Home Depot to get keys made. The first thing you see when you walk in is a very long and tall staircase with a chair lift on it. The chairlift is old and yellowing. We were told not to use it. There is no photo of this on Vrbo . if you have trouble with stairs, this place isn’t for you. The upper deck is up a lot more stairs, after you go through a dirty and dated open area. The bathrooms are not updated. That beautiful tub up close is an old Jacuzzi with yellowing and missing jets. Not enough hot water for a good bath. Mirror has a huge crack, shower and washer dryer are dirty. The master bedroom is filthy behind the furniture, and there was a cigarette butt and someone’s socks on the floor behind the couch. There is a free standing, loud air conditioning unit in the bedroom, with the exhaust hose taped into the window with blue painters tape. At night, people are partying in the parking lot so you won’t get a lot of sleep between that and the air conditioner. It rained when we were there and water poured in the front windows. I was sopping up puddles of water with our towels. We were robbed

This property was perfect for us overlooking the river The view was the best part of this property, It is in need of maintenance and cleaning. Upper deck chairs were in poor condition, rug in living room was dirty and stained. Many items needed attention. (Kitchen facet not attached, several lightbulbs burnt out, door lock to lower patio not working etc.) Overall we expected a cleaner, better maintained property for what we paid to rent it.

We loved the location. The size and layout were very good. The apartment was dirty in spots. The lights over the bar were so dusty that the previous guest wrote “wash me” with their finger. The AC vents were filthy. While the upstairs deck had a beautiful view the furniture was unusable. We felt that for the price we paid the experience should have been much better.

Good location, filthy interior
This is a nice location directly on the river, but that's really the only good thing about it. The Vrbo map makes it appear that the property is on River Street and Google directions from the app send you to River Street. The app tells you to park in front which is a public lot. They could do a lot better with a couple of lines of directions. App gave two different codes to check in. Neither worked. Had to call to get another code. It was late when we arrived. Had it been after midnight, we would not have been able to get in. Unfortunately, there is not a place to add photos because I took several. The bathrooms and kitchen sink were full of black mold. Also, there is only a room air conditioner in one of the two bedrooms. No central air. The unit is black with dirt, not something you want to turn on. The floors are so dirty that your feet turn black if you walk barefoot. The furniture is stained and dirty. The carpets are all stained. The tile floors in the bathrooms are missing tiles and the white grout is black. The showers have black mold in them. The box spring on one of the beds has stains on it, they didn't even bother to cover it with a bed skirt. If you want a location on the river and don't mind filth, this is the place for you. I don't live this way in my own home and certainly don't expect to pay for it on a vacation. There is a reason there are no close-up pictures of this property or the bathrooms.
