What's nearby:
Winter fun can be had just 20 miles up the mountain at China Peak where you can experience nearly 1700 feet of vertical, a terrain park for snowboarders, and a family fun park. The summer months mean fun on Shaver Lake. Fisherman can head to the Shaver Lake Marina less than four miles away and board a boat to try to bring home trout, kokaneee, bluegill, or catfish for dinner. Grab a picnic lunch from Shaver Deli and head out to Shaver Stables where you can take a morning or afternoon horseback ride along the water's edge. And if you'd like to eat indoors, head a mile-and-a-half up to Shorthorn Bar and Grill where you can enjoy live music, play some pool or cornhole, and grab a beer and a burger.

Good Initial - Found Out More Later
When we first checked in, I gave the initial survey a 5 out of 5 for cleanliness. As the 4-day stay wore on, you could see more and more instances of the condo not having been deep cleaned in quite a while. Mold or black debris was hanging from the bottom of the top deck, visible from the owner's bedroom. Walking in bare feet resulted in black-bottomed feet. Nearly all dishes pulled from the cupboards had debris or felt greasy to the touch. The silverware in the drawer was not an entire set and we had to go out and purchase plastic spoons and forks. Accent pillows were stained. We LOVE a pet-friendly rental and brought our dogs, but within a couple of hours of walking on the carpets, you could see previous pet stains coming to the top of the rug. (our pets had already been walked and the stains were NOT new. All in all, we LOVE Shaver and the Bretz Mills condos...and probably will return. We just wish to see the units in better shape than it seemed this visit.

We had a family of 6 adults and 2 kids, fit us perfectly. Main problem was the constant road noise, we kept the windows closed most of the time. They need to fix a few things that are worn out; frayed carpet, dirtly potholders, dead lightbulb, missing sliding screen, broken blinds, broken chair, and the loft area needs more headroom and a better handrail for adults to access. Surrounding grounds were great for walking the dogs. The parking was picky about "only two" yet I saw a guy take up six spots to park his boat. Kitchen was real nice, but the dishes were dirty.

Smoke & Neighbor Bass
Immediately upon walking in the front door, and for the entire time throughout the condo, it smelled like cigarette smoke. This place seriously needs to be deodorized. The kitchen is updated with a nice marble countertop, dining room, and cozy living room with a wood burning fireplace. After we settled in and cooked and ate a nice home meal, the neighbors of this duplex with 1 shared wall arrived home. They turned on their music and left it on until about 10:30pm with bass emanating through the walls and vibrating the dishes in our kitchen cabinets. I'm not sure if these are the owners or renters, but the stereo system was playing the 2nd night as well, and they left it on all night, despite us being respectful and turning off all of our noise at 10pm. Upstairs had a nice loft with a twin bunk for kids with their own bathroom. Downstairs was COLD and the only way to get enough heat to survive the night is to crank up the heaters in the bedrooms, shut the doors, and pile on the blankets. The mattresses downstairs were of low quality. Overall, this condo was not at all worth the money, and we won't be coming back.

Not what we expected.
We do not in any way to want to be negative but this is what we had to deal with. Customer service was responsive and understanding when we got completely snowed in and could not check out on time on the day we had to check out. Thank you! The pictures of the property look good when you get there it's all different. It's very dark and the lighting is not adequate anywhere in the house. After the first day of our stay it snowed so much that the snow from the the roof dumped on the balcony and both balcony doors/windows got blocked by snow and there was no natural light. The kitchen amenities are very limited and poor. No conventional coffee maker, just a Keurig coffee maker; we didn't know so we had no pods. Luckily we brought a French press. The frying pans were dirty, we had to wash them. We had fire wood by the fire place and no kindling and the only lighter was broken and useless. The front door does not have any weather stripping and you could see the outside light around the front door, hence the hallway was always cold and the downstairs hallway was also cold. The master bathroom was not not clean: the bath mat was filthy,, the sliding shower doors fell apart when we moved one sliding door; we put it back together and were afraid to move it ( have pictures of what it looked like). The shared bathroom downstairs was not cleaned well. The half bath on the top floor where the bunk bed is looked sad. One of the two square lights in the bottom of the upstairs deck did not work and the whole house was dark. The left hand rest of the couch in the family room was broken. Sorry to be so negative, but we didn't get our money's worth. Not going back at all unless the maintenance crew does it's job and makes the property worth the money charged, i.e. the fire extinguisher on top of the fireplace mantel was empty and was not good for anything ( I have a picture). It takes very little to make things better for the people who stay at at the property. Remove the broken cheap Betty Croker toaster from the kitchen. Fix the loose kitchen faucet that goes left and right when you move it. Buy a kettle so people can boil water and have tea. Is it too much to ask for. Whoever maintains the property needs to go there and imagine himself/herself living there with family and see if they're going to be happy. Hope things get fixed because it's a good property in need of attention.

We loved the place, nice and homey. The only thing that was a little bothersome was the trees just over the balcony that dropped sap all day. Sap got all over chairs, tables and even us. Sap all over patio floor, sticking to shoes. Would benefit from a trimming to improve cleanliness. Otherwise the place was well stocked and comfortable inside. Would definitely stay again.

Space was comfortable
The house was great and provided ample room for my family. The communication with Vacasa however was completely horrible. I tried calling the management group because a fire started inside the grill. I wanted to let them know their team has not cleaned the grill, which caused the fire. We lost half of our food because of this. I waited on hold for 15 minutes and finally hung up because no one ever came to the line. I messaged them and never got a response for a requested call back. I won't ever book another home on Vrbo if it is managed by Vacasa.
