The front desk staff was mixed. Some friendly others not. Also, we asked about making a reservation at the restaurant but were told it was not needed. When we arrived, most tables were reserved, fortunately they squeezed us in. We had a South facing room, North facing are much nicer.

Beautiful location in a great town! Staff and service is EXCLELLENT! Be aware that there is a lot of noise from the highway and trains right behind the hotel.

Absolutely stunning views. Hotel rooms were gorgeous. Best experience I've ever had while traveling. Beach just steps away. Room service was delicious.

The young man at the bar with the bear needs to stop running his hands through his beard while making drinks. He also needs to work on customers service . He’s not very friendly. I tried ordering food at the bar and was told I had to wait because it was busy and they needed to serve other customers.

I paid extra for Ocean View looks like all rooms had it from the side that extra was not necessary at all. Could not hear the ocean one bit... could not enjoy sitting on the balcony because it felt like we were on the freeway.

Loved the location right on the beach. Great view from our balcony. Took a stroll on the boardwalk and ended up at the fairgrounds and decided to go to the fair. We had so much fun.

WARNING if booking through Expedia: 1) Chose to pay extra for "Ocean view" but ALL rooms are theoretically "Ocean view" since the building is perpendicular to the ocean.The ocean view room I had wasn't anything particularly better and only had a sliver of the ocean with a giant parking structure in front of it. 2) Payed for parking on Expedia but Expedia charged more than just than paying for the structure parking at arrival. Valet parking at the front door isn't what Expedia is charging for. 3)Incorrectly left a bill under my door by hotel, which was eventually reversed, but noticed Expedia charged significantly more than the actual hotel and apparently there's nothing they can do. Hotel blamed Exepdia. Expedia reps gave different excuses that contradicted each other but ultimately still had to pay more than what the hotel would've charged me if I didn't use Expedia. Rep stated most he can do is offer Expedia cash but nothing was added to account. 4)Hotel room was very small and cramped compared to other rooms that we stayed in that were much cheaper. It was clean but small. Was not actually able to enjoy the hotel since I spent more time unhappy about being baited by the "Oceanview" room, trying to reverse the hotel charge, and figuring why I was charged so much more. Regret not just walking in to ask for a room when I was only 10 mins away instead of using Expedia when we decided to stay an extra day after a trip with Island Packers and needed a hotel. Be warned.

Room was fine. Just. Fine. The view amazing though. The shower's water turned hot and cold at random intervals. They couldnt comp us on our hotel rate (supposedly) bc we booked through a 3rd party not through the hotel directly. Lesson learned

Bring earplugs
No double paned sliding balcony doors so you will listen to trucks on the freeway all night. Being earplugs. Gorgeous view of Ventura beach but not a nice beach to lay out on on.
