Lovely Home - Beautiful Location - NOT Clean

House is very cool! Location is perfect for decent privacy and a woodsy feel! We had a fire outside every night and loved it! Communication about check in and check out was easy and as expected. Unfortunately, cleanliness is a major issue when it comes to bedding and dishes. I had to strip the beds and go by laundry detergent to wash sheets. There was hair and other debris on the sheets in the master bedroom. I did not contact the owner about this, as it would have been more of an inconvenience to wait for someone to come take care of it. Fact of the matter is, this shouldn't have even been an issue to begin with. I would think that clean sheets would be a top priority. If the house keeping standards are raised and maintained I would definetly stay here again!

Nice place but there were no clean sheets for the pullout beds or air mattresses and all of the blankets were rolled up in a ball and thrown in a corner- not folded and had a musty smell. There was only one full roll of toilet paper for two bathrooms and the hand soap was pure water. I we have never had this booking with VRBO before. Also we were not aware we couldn’t park our boats in the driveway so we had to find parking elsewhere.

Pretty disappointed

I messaged the host last week because I didn’t want to put a bad review here, but I never got a response. The house is up for sale and she never informed us of this. People were randomly showing up and this put a huge damper on our annual family vacation. This is the message I sent her: I wanted to send you a message instead of putting it on the VBRO feedback. Your place we stayed in was a good location and fit us comfortably. I am just really bummed that when we got there we had to clean. The floors were a mess so we vacuumed, cleaned the showers, and needed to change most the bedsheets and pillow cases. Being locked out was also a bummer, but I don't think it's anyone's fault for the batteries dying. We were able to sit outside once cleaning the furniture and deck off and we used the grill after we cleaned it as well. It was extremely dirty. Then the man with the window repair..... that really put a damper on the trip bc it was our last day there and we didn't want to leave with him being inside so much. Not only had I just woken up, but my son was only in his underwear when the man came and I don't appreciate that. We had the couple show up to meet a realtor which was embarrassing bc I was in my swimsuit, and then the heating and cooling guy came too. These things that happened shouldn't happen when we paid so much to stay for a family vacation and we are disappointed by all of this. I just wanted to tell you this way instead of posting as a review.

What a great family home! It was great for having kids and it served us very well. Close to everything. We are already planning for next year, minus the broken arm and broken thumb that 2 of us incurred!

It was great, I loved the area the house was great. Beautiful view from all the windows. Close proximity to Shanty Creek, we walked a few times there or just around the neighborhood. Very quiet and peaceful. Will definitely consider staying there again.

I really enjoyed my stay and would gladly stay again. However, there is hard/well water on the property and it is showing significant damage to some appliances. The coffee pot and dishwasher are definitely suffering and could use a good descaling. The water also made it hard to truly clean dishes and left a film on whatever we tried to handwash. The instructions regarding the pool towels (now in guest rooms) should be updated as well as instructions to light the fireplace. I believe these are simple enough fixes and I can say I slept. Better in this home than my own. It's quiet, peaceful and the views are stunning. It was great for a secluded girls trip. Loved how close town was and the views in Bellaire were stunning

Don't Do It

I have stayed at many VRBO's and this place is by far the worse i have been to. I don't normally complain but the cabin was dirty, sofas and carpets were filthy, urine stains on the bed mattresses; now i know why they didn't want us to take off the sheets like most places do; they had a 5 gallon bucket in the kitchen to catch the rain from the leaking roof. Broken kitchen chair for you to sit on, very dirty dishes and pots, we washed all the dishes, glasses, silverware and skillet before we even thought about to use them. There was dried food on the silverware. We had to wash the sheets and nasty comforters that were on the beds before we even slept in them. The kitchen table had a sticky residue on it so we went and bought a table cover for it. When you walked out into the garage it smelt like cat urine in there. We didn't get to watch any tv while we were there because there was no service, then they sent out the tv repair man on Sunday morning while we were trying to get ready and pack up now why wouldn't they send them after check out time? The fireplaces didn't work, so i had to call on this and the handyman came Saturday night to get them working. I would have never rented this place if I read the reviews a little closer. Oh and to top it off the driveway is damaged so you have to use the neighbors driveway to turn around and come in on the far left to pull into the drive so you don't fall into the hugh missing part of the driveway.

This renter complained 2 pages long yet never called the 24 hours support line or myself until Saturday afternoon. As soon as she called I sent cleaners to provide clean(er) sheets and double clean the space, they didn't open the door. And then she asked for money back. I think this is a trend, she stayed in other VRBO houses and then complained and asked for money back. I have asked VRBO to investigate.
