Loved the Room, Staff was a Disappointment

Publié le 28 avr. 2014 sur Expedia
Pour : New hotel with firm beds.
Contre : Staff training.
Emplacement : Great place if you like the outdoors. Ski dooing, quading, hunting, and fishing. Christina Lake is close by.
This is a new hotel in Conklin, AB built by the owners of the gas station and the motel at the entrance to the town. I reserved and paid for this room on Expedia for a getaway with my wife while I was working around the area. I arrived and found the front desk to be deserted and had to call into the other room to find someone to help me. I told the person at the front desk that I reserved a room and told the clerk my name. She spent the next few minutes typing in my information into the computer and then decided to charge me again from my room!!! She handed me the credit card machine with a charge on it. I had to tell her that I already paid for the room on Expedia. This left a bad taste in my mouth. I was given my key and was told that I could go to my room while they contacted Expedia to confirm my payment. The room itself was nice and new. The bed was firm and provided enough support for a good night sleep. I only had a shower in my room, but I think there is a lack a bathtubs at this hotel as this is the third room I have stayed in at this hotel with only a shower. Management should probably do a better job of training its staff. Aside from the staff, my stay at the hotel was pleasant.

New Hotel

Publié le 27 août 2013 sur Expedia
Pour : Nice and new hotel!
Contre : The rooms need a bath tub.
Emplacement : Fishing at Christina Lake. Can fish right off the dock and catch a lot of walleye.
I really enjoyed my stay at the Ramada in Conklin. I loved the high ceilings in my first floor room and was pleased with the condition and look of my room. I was provided with six pillows on my bed and the coverings were nicely pressed and clean. Unfortunately, the room did not have a bathtub to soak... it was a wheelchair accessible room with a large shower area. I would have enjoyed something to sit in for a nice bath. Aside from that, the new hotel is a nice stay... a little pricey... but nice.
