Mold, mold, mold
Publié le 25 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayOur first impression was the front door completely covered with mold. It smelled like mold inside as well. You could also see visible mold on ceiling air vents, and on the bathroom mirror. All of our clothes smell of mold, even the ones we didn't wear. One of my daughters is now coughing with a sore throat, which I blame on the mold, of course.
It was well stocked and the decor was nice. The chairs on the patio were great.
Fortunately we only slept here and spent the rest of the time with another family at a larger house down the block.
I don't like leaving a negative review, but really want people to know before they book here.

Thank you for joining us at the coast. We are glad you liked the decor and furniture. The A/C was replaced earlier this year, and we added a new dehumidifier system. We sent a professional over, and they only found surface mildew, not mold. With 4-5 communication options available, we were surprised to hear about your concerns after staying all 4 nights at the condo.

great location, needs repairs for safety.
Publié le 4 oct. 2023 sur HomeAwaywe enjoyed our stay, but it was in need of repairs. safety repairs, cosmetic I'm fine with, it needs those too. nail sticking out of the stairs inside, few of us got stabbed. the railing going into the house is rotting. one fell off when we used and others about to. the bridge to the beach had quite a few boards not attached, swayed when walked on.

Dirty dishes, coffee pot was disgusting dishwasher was broke and had water standing in it with white stuff all in the bottom, dryer didn’t work, some lights didn’t work, chip bag and other trash under the bed and the balcony door wouldn’t lock. Contacted the owners and was told sorry you’re disappointed in your stay I’ll have maintance come out, then was told repair guy for the dryer would be out and they NEVER showed up!

We are sorry to hear your beach weekend did not meet expectations. The dryer is brand new, installed shortly before your visit. You told the manager not to send anyone for housekeeping touchups when she called the next morning. She did send the handyman, who showed your guest how to lock that door and the dishwasher.

Nice place but needs TLC
Publié le 26 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayEnjoyed location but was greeted with front door almost solid mold .I had to clean due to smell of mildew . Shower curtain in upstairs bathroom was barely hanging on by a screw . Doors would not close on bedrooms or bathrooms . One of sliding glass doors would not lock and as I was carrying baby in hallway upstairs the baseboard fell from Wall right in my path and almost made me trip . This could be a nice place , furnishing are nice but definitely needs repair .

Thank you for your feedback. The curved-style shower rod was screwed in correctly, but that type of rod is flexible, so guests do not rip it from the drywall. We have opted to replace it with a new traditional straight tension rod. The sliding glass door has a burglar bar since stilted beach houses settle and sometimes the basic latch does not catch. We are looking into a longer lasting fix for the front door condensation. Being metal (more secure) in a humid coastal environment can lead to mildew on the outside of the door from the A/C keeping the interior cool. We have a handyman, housekeeper and manager on the island to assist when needed.
