Overpriced, but a nice hotel
Publié le 28 déc. 2022 sur HotelsHotel was nice. My family enjoyed the private baths. Location wasn’t good in regards to getting to the ski slopes and restaurants. If you get breakfast included, you cook it yourself- it’s just the raw ingredients. The room was huge and lovely for our family of 5. We were comfortable in the winter. We travelled with another family (of 4) who booked the same room type but theirs was much smaller and they froze because their heating was different. I loved the room and private baths (my kids loved the shower while I soaked) but the location and the amenities fell flat. We, and the family we travelled with, felt the price was far too much and would not book again. We’d stay at a resort attached to the slopes for a bit more.

I stayed for only one night with my husband. It was a quick getaway at the end of last year, and it was a very pleasant to see a newly renovated space within the facilities of an antique Japanese house. We had a mini-kitchen but didn't use it since it was a short stay. I would definitely appreciate it for our upcoming ski trip next winter. The all-you-can-drink wine in the shared-lounge was a privilege that we were really happy with. Since the place is a bit detached from the busiest areas in Hakuba, there were only a few restaurant choices available in the area, however they were all within walking distance. The newly renovated Shouya Maruhachi restaurant next to the property seems to attract many foreigner guests, so it was pleasing for us as Japanese to enjoy while surrounded by people from many places in the world. Food was very delicious!
I will come back again. This time in winter!

The room is compact and cozy,
We spent a really good time in Hakuba. The butlers at the hotel were incredibly helpful and nice people, definitely the highlight of our stay.
There will be a new facility opening soon in the winter so I'm definitely keen to visit next time I come to Hakuba.

Stayed at this Hotel introduced by a friend living in Toyo. The apartment where we stayed is detached from the reception area which gave us a feeling of being in completely in a private space. The room is really spacious and comfortable. We brought a few items to cook and we were quite pleased to have a common shared kitchen very nicely decorated which made us feel at home. We cooked our dinner there, shared some glasses of wine and enjoy talking with other guests staying in a different apartment. We had a great time!
We heard from the butler that a newly renovated facility will be open next winter so we are already looking forward to our next ski trip to Hakuba.

Publié le 30 mai 2019 sur Hotels

The hotel seemed to go through a recent renovation so the interior of the buildings are fairly new. We originally booked a standard room and it looked great but upon further inspection the room did not seem to have been cleaned except for the bathroom before our check-in. There was dust everywhere on the surfaces and floors, the floors were crunchy and we found dead bugs and a wrapper in the closet area, the sheets and towels were dusty and had a dark stain. The bed looked like someone actually had slept in it before. Then it got worse when 4 huge beetle bugs kept flicking to our bed when we were about to go to sleep. The building is old so understandable but because the room was so dirty it probably did not help. The hotel staff switched us to an upgraded suite and it was extremely clean and we didn’t have any issues since. The hotel service was not great and found the language barrier was a bit difficult. They do seem a bit understaffed and the turnover in people seem to be high day to day. The restaurant service was terrible. The hotel is very far out from Hakuba area so would recommend a car otherwise difficult to get around. Hotel could be great if they invested in proper hotel customer service and ensured proper cleaning and maintenance of rooms.
