Traumhaft schön
Publié le 24 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWir durften eine Woche in diesem zauberhaften Ferienhaus verbringen. Es ist nicht nur sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet, man findet auch alles, was man benötigt und alles ist sehr durchdacht und vor allen Dingen sehr sauber.
Dieses Haus, diese Terrasse, dieser Ausblick sind einfach traumhaft schön und wir empfehlen es wärmstens weiter. Vielen Dank auch Judith für die zuverlässige und freundliche Kommunikation und die vielen Tipps, die wir im braunen Ordner gefunden haben. Der Garten ist top für Hundebesitzer, da er komplett eingezäunt ist.

We were allowed to spend a week in this magical holiday home. It is not only very tastefully furnished, you can also find everything you need and everything is very well thought out and above all very clean. This house, this terrace, this view are simply fantastically beautiful and we highly recommend it. Thank you Judith for the reliable and friendly communication and the many tips we found in the brown folder. The garden is great for dog owners, as it is completely fenced.

Bungalow with Great Views
Publié le 27 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayGetting to Peacehaven was quite an event, the main roads are easy to navigate. The lanes are a different story, narrow with passing places, very constricted by high banks needing a lot of concentration to navigate safely. Wind your door mirrors in unless you want the drivers side damaged by passing traffic on the lanes. Peacehaven once reached gave fabulous views out to Bigbury on Sea, Banntham Bay, Burgh Island and its hotel with the seascape beyond as well as the estuary leading inland. The bungalow is well appointed and mirrors a home from home, everything you want is there and Judy has put some nice touches to help with your stay.
Being the type of people who move around a lot visiting places of interest the whole area does not disappoint at all. The highlight for us was The Burgh Island Hotel where we had afternoon tea in Art Deco surroundings, very professional staff who were all extremely helpful. The return trip to Bigbury was by the Sea Tractor in five feet of tidal water, an experience also not to be missed as you stand on the high rise platform above the water below.
Make sure you also do the Round Robin experience of Bus,Train, Ferry and Boat. You’ll see much of the area in different modes of transport.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on our property. We’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay and found everything you needed in the property. Devon lanes can be on the narrow side, but usually offer sufficient passing places. We do suggest a route for arrival which uses the wider roads for a longer distance in preference to a Sat Nav suggestion. The Devon lanes are part of the counties DNA and I strongly believe this is why the area remains so unspoilt, and keeps mass tourism at bay. The side hedges are full of wildlife and nesting birds, and for this reason cannot be trimmed back until November, protecting the countryside. I would hate to see main A roads in the locality as with that the entire integrity of the area would be lost. Don’t be put off driving, and embrace the slower pace of life.

Very peaceful stay

Lovely property in a great area
Publié le 11 oct. 2022 sur HomeAwayWe really enjoyed our stay here - the property had everything we needed and was in a lovely location. Judith was very helpful and responsive.
The only minor issue we had was a neighbour's truck and trailer that was parked against the wall opposite the garages all week which made manouevring the car into the parking space a bit tight.

As you can probably appreciate our private parking space in the village of Thurlestone is a real bonus. We do advise our visitors in the welcome letter that our neighbours live and work in the village, and that work vehicles may also be parked in the carpark, but, we also advise that if parking is an issue our neighbours are most accommodating in allowing guests to park outside their own garage enabling a larger turning area. This can soon be organised with a phone call.
