nice rooms; friendly staff; but many problems
Publié le 30 janv. 2018 sur HotelsThis hotel is new, so it was going to have a few hiccups. We had several problems with the place. First, there is no sign from the main road. At the gate, twice the guard told us there was no hotel, yet both neighbors told us it was next door (it was). Then, the hotel reservation system was not connected to hotels.com and they did not have our reservation. Staff handled it well, though unfortunately had to move another family. The room itself felt like no one had ever used it! Interesting, upscale structure. The bed was comfortable and there was both a fan and A/C. The shower worked fine, though there was trash in the drain. The hot water heater was off when we arrived so no hot shower shower after an all day hike... We hadn't eaten all day, the hotel is not near anything, so we ordered the "thali" dinner at 6pm which was supposed to be delivered at 8pm. At 10pm, we got dinner: two tablespoons of food. It was tasty, but it was daal cooked in ghee - why did it take until 10pm and why so little (they brought more - one spoon at a time)? The next morning, continental breakfast was supposedly at 8am. We wanted to visit Hampi early. We came out at 815, nothing. At 9:45 (!), we got idli and sambar. Again, why did this take so long, and wasn't ready at 8? We were so frustrated with the experience that we checked out early. On exit, the driver (and we) were charged an enormous amount for dinner - 3x more than local prices and 3x less. We've stayed in much better in India for less.
