Perfectly quiet getaway
Publié le 22 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe returned to this beachfront spot because it's at the quiet end of the beach and gets tons of sun on the two decks. Catching rays even in the fall and walking an almost-deserted beach is our kind of fun.

Exactly as it looks.
Publié le 1 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwayThe place is spacious and clean. The ocean is literally 50 feet from the balcony and, at high tide, about 10 feet. Some complained about the lack of a beach, but I loved being this close with a spectacular view. There is plenty of room to sit or sunbathe.
The only drawback of our stay and it was unrelated to the condo is many places, especially in Carolina Beach, were closed due to the historic flooding a week before. Also, internet and cell coverage was poor across the whole Island due to the flood. I suspect this will be fixed soon. Anyway, you don't go to the beach to be on the internet.
Otherwise, the place looks like it does in the pics and I would go back again.

Ocean Front at its finest

The end unit was very quiet, and we really enjoyed sitting out on the porches and watching the ocean in the morning and afternoon. We did not have issues with finding a place to sit on the beach, although as other reviewers noted there isn't a large beach in front of the home. The owner was super responsive, and offered to change the door code to a number of our choosing after we arrived, which was super convenient for families with kids that will want to come in/out of the house throughout the day. The house furnishings and interior were more dated than we expected from the listing pictures, but overall the house was clean upon our arrival and the kitchen was well stocked with supplies. The only major issues we encountered was first having difficulty maneuvering our large SUV into the garage bay due to the deck from the row of units in front of this home and overhang from the front porch creating a tight space. Luckily we only had one vehicle, but for those with multiple large vehicles this would have been super challenging if not impossible. Second, the beach access stairs were covered with sand drift so we had to literally slide down the steep hill to access the beach. This would have been challenging with families with elderly members or small children.

Best vacation!
Publié le 29 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayMy family of four had the best vacation to Kure beach. The location of the condo was perfect. Literally on the beach with the best beach views we have ever had in an oceanfront condo. We really enjoyed the quietness of the beach and how uncrowded it was. The condo was cleaned extremely well and fully equipped with everything we needed for a successful week vacation at the beach. We will definitely be booking here again!

Great experience and lovely condo
Publié le 23 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a great stay at the condo. Can’t beat the location right on the beach - amazing views. And the owner was very communicative. Nice amenities and we especially appreciated the well-equipped kitchen and the brand new comfy beach chairs. No complaints.

Perfect beach vacation spot!
Publié le 17 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayThe location of this beach condo is just perfect for quick beach access. We loved using the two porches for lunch, tanning or reading. Everything we needed was in the condo, especially a well-outfitted kitchen that made cooking a breeze. Great shower head pressure for those sandy bodies and lots of beach chairs and toys in a handy location. We'll be back!

Weekday getaway
Publié le 20 avr. 2024 sur HomeAwayWe enjoyed being at Kure Beach. The location of the property is down near the end where sandbags are needed to deter the encroaching surf. There wasn't much beach to walk on as the water comes up kind of close to the condo. We didn't enjoy that part of our visit. The condo itself was very clean, neat and well supplied. No complaints there. The interior furnishings were a bit dated. Everything worked well and the property manager was very responsive and helpful. Next time we go, we will probably want to stay closer to the middle part of Kure Beach where there is more walkable beach area.

Thanks for staying with us. You’re right – our condo is located toward the south end of Kure Beach, where it does get a little more narrow based on the topography of the island; but we actually like the feel of being closer to the water and the benefits of being on the southern end. It is much more quiet in our area and nowhere else on the island will you find the coquina outcrop that is right below our unit that offers a unique view of sea life and rock formations. Also, we’ve found that at both high and low tides, there is enough beach to walk down to the rocks at Fort Fisher (which is the most narrow part of the beach) and to set up chairs and an umbrella for the day in front of our condo. I understand it may not be as wide a beach as you could be used to, but we find it to be plenty of room.
The sandbags are in front of the units in the event of a tropical storm, to protect all of the Ocean Dunes properties from storm surge. They aren’t needed for blue sky days or regular tides – just a protection during major storms.
As far as the condo, I’m glad you enjoyed it, and just wanted to mention that all of the furnishings have been updated in the past five years.
We hope you visit Kure Beach again soon.

Beautiful views
Publié le 20 févr. 2024 sur HomeAwayThis condo is right on the beach. You can hear the ocean waves all day and night. Really lovely and peaceful. The beach is easy to access and great to walk on. It’s very close to the rock formations and Fort Fisher ferry and aquarium. Nicely stocked overall and Steve is very responsive and super helpful. Would stay here again for sure!
