Better be a good problem solver

Publié le 18 nov. 2024 sur HomeAway
The location is excellent.Recently painted interior, new bathroom fixtures, new window covers EXCEPT in the bedrooms which have a lot of light from street lights.I had to email the manager twice in less than 48 hrs from arrival for access info.No written information in the apt,and after the arrival day the manager didn't respond to emailed questions including how to turn on the heat.Main bedroom mattress desperately needs replacement.

Charming Apartment in the Heart of Richmond

Publié le 4 août 2024 sur HomeAway
Lovely stay in one of the best streets in Richmond. Easy access to the station, restaurants & shops, the Green, and the River Thames. Owner was quick to respond to all questions, very helpful. Very much enjoyed our time here and highly recommend.

Little gem in perfect location

Publié le 24 févr. 2024 sur HomeAway
We stayed at this property in February 2024 for a week as a family of 4 to visit London. The property is a charming small townhouse in a pedestrian alley at the heart of beautiful Richmond. It has been recently renovated. The property is a great base to both visit London and enjoy Richmond. In a range of 200 m from the house there are plenty of cafes, grocery stores, shopping, and pubs as well as Richmond's riverfront. Richmond's train station is just 10 min walk away connecting to London via underground and rail lines (20-35 min). Heathrow is 20 min away via taxi or 50 min away via public bus #490 (stop is 30 m from the house). There are few things on this property that you may want to be aware as it may or may not work for you: - the property extends over 3 floors, with bedrooms on the second floor, and kitchen, living room and bathroom on the 3rd floor...so potentially not ideal for small children - there is one single bathroom has been renovated but it is very very small. The shower has enjoyable high pressure hot water - the master bedroom faces the pedestrian alley which is mostly very quiet, but on Saturday night there was live music until 11 pm which was loud..not a problem for us, but may be for others - the second bedroom's bed is really for one, so if you are 4, you may need to use the couch in the living room (not a sofa bed) or bring an inflatable portable mattress Everything else was fine and worked well for us (kitchen, bedding, internet, tv,....).

Girls Trip!

Publié le 20 nov. 2023 sur HomeAway
The location was perfect! The bathroom, which we understand is due to be renovated in December, is quite small. But there was plenty of hot water for showers and the water pressure was great. All in all a great stay.

Great location, but some big issues

Publié le 24 oct. 2023 sur HomeAway
Pros: great location, washer/dryer Cons: Bathroom: the bathroom is almost unusable. The door doesn’t close all the way and gets stuck on the track (all of us needed assistance getting out from someone on the outside). The shower/tub is tiny and water goes everywhere. My husband is 6’4” and he just simply didn’t fit. The toilet is jammed in there- the space is so small that it’s uncomfortable to use (even for small/short people). The bathroom also feels really grimy and moldy after what seems like years of water damage. The flat itself smells unbearably musty as soon as you walk in. Noise: while the location is wonderful, the flat is directly above a pub that can be noisy until late. Our sleep was disrupted almost every night by some noise (one night it was the power washing of the church sidewalks at midnight -no joke, one night it was the alarm of the jewelry business downstairs that was going off all night, one other night there were boys playing basketball outside, the list goes on..). Beds: while the listing says that the flat sleeps 5, that might not work for all guests. Our children didn’t want to share a bed, so one slept in the bedroom and the other slept on the couch. Cleanliness: the flat seems to need a full, deep clean of all areas. I’m also pretty sure that the blankets never actually get washed. I would recommend that the owners provide duvet covers and wash those after every guest.

To provide some more detail on the points raised: Noise: the flat is in the town centre in Richmond. It is down a cobbled side street. There is a nice pub 4 doors down where the patrons need to be fully inside by 10pm. There can be some noise from the 3 tables outside before 10pm, but it is very rare for it to be disturbing. In the 12 years I lived in the flat I didn’t hear anyone power washing the churchyard at midnight. I do not know why this might have happened. There has also never been an issue with people playing games outside the flat. Nor has the alarm in the shop below gone off as far as I can remember. It is a quiet side street that leads through a church yard (with one of the most beautiful churches in London) and goes through to another part of Richmond. Definitely not a games area. I am very sorry that this guest had a noisy stay, but that is absolutely not normal. For full disclosure on noise, there is plane noise in Richmond that is unfortunately unavoidable in SW London and also the church bells ring at 10am on a Sunday morning and the flat is close to the church. Bathroom - the bathroom is small, but it is very, very unfair to call it unusable. I am 6’3 and I lived very happily there for 12 years. The bath is a shortened bath to fit the space, but only a bit short and my 5’8 wife tells me she is able to lie in it normally. Again, it is a very small bathroom so there isn’t a lot of space, but anyone can use the toilet completely as normal, there is a sink and a shower above the bath with great water pressure, which I value. Smell/Cleanliness - the flat is cleaned for 2 to 3 hours by the same cleaner I have had for 15 years before every guest. All the linen (including duvet covers) is, of course, washed between guests and is high quality linen from John Lewis. The beds have 2 or 3 year old high quality Sealy mattresses. I assume the ‘musty’ smell is the smell that comes in the entranceway (the flat has its own front door at street level and then a staircase that goes up to the flat. It makes it feel a bit like a house). This comes from the basement physio and massage therapist next door. It’s the smell of the oil they use. I don’t mind it but I can imagine some people might, but it also doesn’t go up into the flat, it’s just at the front door. Unfortunately none of these points were raised during the stay or I would have loved to try and help. We feel strongly that this review doesn’t represents the flat

Comfortable apartment in a great location in the quiet court just off Richmond’s Main Street. Kitchen very well equipped despite its small size. Just be aware the bathroom is very small
