Peaceful, tranquil and perfectly relaxing
Publié le 10 août 2024 sur HomeAwayA beautiful property in a stunning location by the river. There is lots to see and do locally. I was a solo traveller and felt perfectly safe the entire time. Everyone was friendly at the local shop and pub The property was clean ans Michele was easy ti communicate with as well as being helpful, supportive and friendly. I’d thoroughly recommend.

Lovely location, inaccurate listing with problems
Publié le 8 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThis property really is all about the location, which cannot be faulted. Extremely charming, cosy little cottage right on the water/mud banks. With updates could be 5*, but there is room for improvement and property listing would benefit from an update.
Not shown in listing is the 'shower room' which is reminiscient of a school changing room and remains damp all day. Can understandfrom owner's perspective why it's not pictured but would probably help to manage expectations if it was.
This property should not be advertised as dog friendly - don't bother bringing a dog, not worth the hassle.
Listing also specifies garden, BBQ grill, etc. These are not true. Prior to stay, I contacted the owner to ask if the Hot Tub in the listing was accurate - it wasn't and has now been deleted.
As another guest mentioned, cleanliness was not up to usual standards. Unfortunately we had to clean kitchen, cutlery and utensils before use. Soft furnishings could do with an update. Sheepskin rug stained, etc.
To add insult to injury over the cleanliness of the property, our stay was tainted by being given 2 additional charges on checkout. Ironically, one relating to cleanliness, the other one to our small, well behaved (less than 10kg as stipulated!) therapy dog.
I am sure owner will reply with her side of the story, but unfortunately this really left us with a sour taste about our whole experience here. As a long term holiday rental user I have never had such an experience before.

Beautiful cottage

We stayed a week and enjoyed it so much
Lovely places to visit that are nearby and some lovely walks
So tranquil and a stunning village lerryn
Would highly recommend staying here so pretty and everything you need

Entspannt den Gezeiten zuschauen
Publié le 27 juill. 2024 sur HomeAwayAm River Lerryn saßen wir zweimal täglich direkt am Wasser. Das Hochwasser erreicht immer das Sträßchen vorm Haus, manchmal sogar die Treppe. Es ist wunderschön, wenn sich der kleine Bach zu einer Bucht erweitert.
Das Häuschen ist zwar klein, aber liebevoll und perfekt eingerichtet.
Im Dorf wird man gegrüßt!
Ein toller Ausgangspunkt um die Gegend zu Fuß, per Fahrrad oder Boot zu erkunden.

Lovely accommodation in Lerryn
Publié le 30 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayLovely accommodation in beautiful Lerryn. The cottage is small but was plenty big enough for 2 adults and our dog. We enjoyed walking around Lerryn and driving around the area. We had good weather. We kept an eye out on the high tide, and we enjoyed watching all the wildlife on the river. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Amazing views

We knew Lerryn from a previous visit many years ago so were delighted to find accommodation right next to the river. We spent many happy hours watching the tide & the birds and loved our riverside walks. It's a very special place and the village itself is a gem. Great location for exploring inland as well the south coast of Cornwall. Thanks to Michele for letting us stay in her delightful holiday home :)

Relaxing week away
Publié le 2 juin 2024 sur HomeAwayA perfect property for two persons wanting to relax in a peaceful environment with plenty of local walking options, and a great view of the river from the breakfast area and outdoor terrace. You can waste hours just sitting and watching the ebb and flow of the tide! Great food at the local pub which is about 30 seconds walk away!

A Mixed Bag in Lovely Lerryn
Publié le 30 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayThere is much to like in this small, nicely designed* and furnished space with a comfortable bed, lovely view and pleasant owner. Sadly, and despite the overwhelming smell of bleach on arrival, housekeeping attention is required to kitchen drawers and contents, dirty windows, dust-encrusted pendant lights, etc.
*with the exception of the wet room/cupboard - cramped and always wet.
Beware! Live music in pub garden directly behind property. Tranquil Lerryn was jumping last Friday evening.

Oh dear sadly the first ever negative review about cleaning or the pub in 10 years of renting !
We have always had the most beautiful, complimentary reviews from all of our guests and also have many guests who repeat book each year, some for the last 8 years !!
Sadly this guest seemed to want to find something to complain about from the beginning !
So,to re-assure future guests and in response-I will check the pendant lighting for dust ..they are very high up so I’m not sure how this guest spotted dust!
The windows are cleaned regularly, but we have had a lot of rain recently. I have never seen them dirty, our cleaner is excellent at regularly cleaning windows.
The bleach smell was my husband’s fault, who decided on a whim to bleach out the wet room and kitchen cupboards !
Unfortunately and a little embarrassingly we did the clean for that changeover! So most definitely it is not a reflection on our usual housekeeper Sally who never uses bleach !
The pub does have occasional events, very weather dependant, which never go on late and are great fun to join in with.
I hope this helps to re-assure guests that Pentye is a beautiful, clean, tranquil spot for a holiday, if you like a good river view, beautiful walks from the house, plenty of places nearby to visit and a pub and shop in a village that has been unspoilt by tourism please don’t worry about one slightly negative review. As the guest states there is much to like although I would feel love !
