Canceled last minute, stuck in Europe with no place to stay
This is a rating for both the renter and VRBO in general! We never got check-in information and upon arrival called our host to find out that he had been locked out of his account and double booked the room so we had nowhere to stay. I didn’t have a way to call Vrbo because I don’t have international calling, so when I talk to the people on chat, they told me they would be in touch within one to two hours to help me get a new place to stay. Over 24 hours later, I still had not heard from them and had to reach back out for a refund. we went on and booked a new property on a different company because otherwise we would’ve been stranded and not have a place to stay for three nights. Then, after I received my refund, I got an email saying that Vrbo would “make it up to me“ and when I clicked on it, it was just directing me to your website to book another reservation. There wasn’t a discount no courtesy was given for you not doing anything to help me when the issue was on your end, and I was stuck in a foreign country with nowhere to stay . . I am so disappointed that there is not a lot of options out there because I would definitely go with something else if I could. You said that you would help me get a new place to stay and you never did and then you refunded me and didn’t give me any other courtesies for this terrible experience.
