Lovely property with maintenance issues
Publié le 18 août 2024 sur HomeAwayOn the positive side, this house was in a great location and had fabulous views. Multiple sleeping spaces were convenient. Bedrooms were spacious. There is a small sandy area where the kids played and entered the lake, however no stairs or ladders made lake access challenging. The dock was long enough for our boat, however was significantly tilted/sinking on one side making it precarious to walk on. The house was large and the kitchen was well equipped. Parking was good for our three vehicles.
The problems we experienced were previously identified by past guests. The problems were not solved by the management company. Several window screens were missing and many/most were broken (I specifically called Vacasa and checked on this issue after reading the review. I was assured the problem was remedied). As a result, the windows couldn’t be used or bugs/flys were constantly entering the home. There was an extremely strong sulfur odor from the water. It was very concerning (also identified in prior review). Both ovens in the kitchen were so dirty, the kitchen was filled with smoke when they were turned on. I had to clean the lesser of the two to use without smoke. At 4:30 in the morning (for 10seconds) all the smoke alarms “went off”. The entire household was woken. Vacasa was contacted in the morning. They stated “I don’t know what we can do about it”.
When we booked the house it was advertised as having air conditioning. Another error by the management.

However, we sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered, particularly with the lake access, dock safety, missing window screens, and the sulfur odor from the water.
