The staff were very nice but we will never stay at this location again. The proximity to the train makes it impossible to get any sleep. The train blows its horn every time it goes by and there were only about 3 hours in the night that it wasn’t happening. The white noise machines, extra curtains, and earplugs are a generous offer but it does no good. Our entire family slept miserably.

Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We sincerely apologize for the train noise. The City of Menlo Park is currently in the process of applying for a Quiet Zone. This would eliminate the horn blowing required at all train crossings. Keeping our fingers crossed. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you again.

I like the property very much in terms of convenience to downtown Menlo Park. It's a newer property and is in very good condition. Service was very good and so was the staff.
Two negatives: 1. they've shoe-horned the hotel very close to the railroad tracks so get used to the commuter train noise. 2. The room floors are part tile so you can really hear people in the room above walking on the tile floor portion. In fact, the hotel gives you ear plugs!! ...they don't help much. :-(

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with Expedia. One of the challenges of having a location so close to Stanford, Facebook, and downtown Menlo Park, is the proximity to public transportation. The City of Menlo Park is currently in the process of applying for a Quiet Zone. This would eliminate the horn blowing required at all train crossings. Keeping our fingers crossed.Looking forward to the opportunity to serve you again.

Great value for the price in an area that's very central to Stanford, Portola Valley, and other places. 2BR / 2BA suite was clean and worked well for a family. Other reviews said to make sure you request a room in a building far from the train tracks (anything but building A, they said) so we did and weren't bothered by the noise.
The breakfast food was hit and miss but it's free and has a number of options. Also some good places to eat in the area.
Parking was $12 per night during our stay although you can probably find street parking in the area without paying anything.
Criticisms are the free breakfast has a lot of options but it all feels like it's packaged food, and the rooms themselves don't have a lot of "personality" or "charm." Good value and perfect for a trip where we didn't spend a lot of time in the room.

Thank you for staying with us and for sharing your feedback. We are sorry that you were not happy with the parking fee. Parking is at a premium in this area, and because the City of Menlo Park does not allow overnight parking on their residential streets, we had to negotiate parking with the City, hence the fee. While many guests have suggested it be included with the rate, we ultimately felt that it would not be fair for guests who did not have a vehicle. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again.
