Décevant et mauvais rapport qualité prix

Hôtel pas trop mal placé dans un petit chemin. Chambre avec vue mer mais inutile de prendre ce supplément. Certes on voit la mer mais au loin, au dessus des cocotiers et en regardant sur le côté. Hôtel très récent mais manque cruel d'entretien. L'intérieur de l'ascenseur est en inox sale. Dans la salle de bains, la paroi en verre de la douche ne semble pas nettoyée et en tout cas pas jusqu'en haut. Balcon avec jardinière avec terre grossière sans plante et il manque une moitié de la paroi en verre. Les sièges du balcon ont été rapidement déballés en laissant des lambeaux de plastique sous les sièges. La piscine pourrait être agréable mais l'eau n'est pas claire. J'ai quitté l'hôtel à 5 heures 30 afin de faire l'excursion pour voir les baleines mais il n'y avait personne à la réception. Après avoir appelé, j'ai laissé la clé derrière le comptoir.

Huge room and expansive view

I loved my stay here, as the room was spacious and clean. The bed was super-comfy, with a medium-hard mattress. Slept SOOOOO well. Get the breakfast to start your day well - fruit plate, Sri Lankan omelette, coffee, tea, juice. The staff speak moderate English, and will make every attempt to ensure your stay is comfortable. Although this establishment is located well Google Maps is NOT to be trusted! Maps will take you to a location over the nearby creek (which stinks during the day). Maintenance on the place could be better, and overall looks a little tired. Pool is not over-chlorinated, which is a bonus.

Good Value for Money

Emplacement : Great location, 2 minute walk to main entrance of Mirissa Beach, but far enough back that the noise doesn't keep you up.
This place has had some poor reviews due to it only being a year old and already needing major maintenance. Yes, the hallways and fittings throughout the hotel are pretty dodgy, but the room was fine. Modern, clean and comfortable. I think some people need to remember this is Sri Lanka, and is only just becoming touristy, so a lot of things aren't quite up to "Western" standards. Our room was big and comfortable, the bed was massive, and definitely the best shower we had at all of the places we stayed throughout the country. Hot water, and great pressure. The Wifi even though we had full bars, was pretty much non-existent though. There is also a roof top bar and restaurant advertised, however it is only open for breakfast. Pool area is great. The manager and staff were super lovely and helpful. Probably couldn't have picked a better location. You pay a little bit extra to stay here, but not that much, and compared to what you get for a little less everywhere else, the bed and shower were worth a couple of extra dollars.

Grundsätzlich ein tolles Hotel

An dem Hotel und seinen Mitarbeitern gibt es grundsätzlich gar nichts auszusetzen. Wir waren mit allem sehr zufrieden. Nur leider ist es nachts so laut, dass wir oft nicht schlafen konnten. Auch nicht mit Oropax. Das ist ein no go für den Urlaub. Die Balkontüren schließen nicht komplett, sodass immer ein kleiner Spalt offen steht. Nachts sind am Strand oft laute Partys und die Hunde der Umgebung geben Bell- und Heulkonzerte. So mancher Hund schreit, als würde er die ganze Nacht gefoltert werden. Das war so gruselig und gleichzeitig nervraubend, dass ich niemandem besten Gewissen empfehlen kann dort Urlaub zu machen. Verbesserungsvorschläge für das Hotel: 1. Balkontüren mit Schallschutz, die komplett schließen. 2. Eine größere Variantion des Angebots beim Frühstück. Der Toast den man in Sri Lanka häufig zum Frühstück bekommt schmeckt wie Zwieback und hat ähnliche Konsistenz. Nicht lecker! Dabei gibt es so tolles landestypisches Frühstück wie Rottis und Pancakes. Für ein Sternehotel sollte es kein Problem sein, so etwas anzubieten. Auf Nachfrage gab es für jeden 1 Pancake, aber auch nicht jeden Tag. Das ist zu wenig Service. 3. Außerdem empfehle ich sich mit anderen Gasthäusern und Hotels zu verbinden ud dafür zu sorgen, dass der stinkende Müll auf dem Weg zum Strand verschwindet, vor allem der Bach/Fluss muss dringend gereinigt werden. Wenn das Land dafür nicht Sorge trägt, dann muss man es eben selbst in die Hand nehmen, wenn man ein guter Gastgeber sein will.

Very good mid market hotel

Ballena Regency is basically a four storey building with nine bedrooms, a breakfast room on the roof and a decent sized swimming pool. The sea is just visible from the top two floors. The beds are huge and comfortable and so are the rooms. Not much of a garden but a small still river next door full of fish, turtles, iguanas and birds and monkeys in the trees. Cleanliness is good though the shower soap dish in our very nice bathroom was caked in old, dried soap and never cleaned. Mirissa beach is a little crowded but good fun and lots of beach restaurants. Plenty to do in the area by tuk tuk or taxi. Location of hotel is excellent, a short way back from the busy main roàd. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Thoroughly recommended.

Not a good experience

Contre : Well trained personell and a reliable management. The hotel has to be cleaned thoroughly. Full with dust from building the hotel.
Upon late arrival we got a very dirty and unclean room. It was disgusting. We complained about that and got the answer that it was cleaned the day before. We were offered a new room which was OK and we could move in one day later. The management avoid to answer our request about compensation but after six days we could reach a solution only due to the fact that we kept asking and asking. There was also rats running around in the corridors. This hotel could be a great place with the right management and reliable and well trained staff. Now its is like they do not know how to provide a descent and clean standard and how to respond to the guest demands.

As new hotel, a little bit weird that the ceiling of the bathroom is seriously mould. Would be good to have a restaurant even though there is lots of choices at surrounding area.

Great hotel within walking distance to beach

Staff was very friendly and gave us a free upgrade. We extended our stay for another night as the hotel was close to the beach. Was told by staff that the hotel was affected by heavy rain and I think this damaged some of their flooring on the corridor. The walls had damp in it. Such a pity, the roof top restaurant was closed for renovation. I hope they manage to restore it soon and get more business. The pool doubles up as a bonus when the beach gets too hot as many of these beach side hotels normally forgo a pool because of its proximity by the beach. But this was a nice touch added on by the hotel. The shower is a little cranky but so long as you know how to work the taps it’s perfectly fine. Like with most smaller hotel staff in Asia, there’s limited hot water so don’t linger and get the job done ASAP. There were many plug sockets but have a trouble fitting in Tavel adapters because of the space around it, for example the socket is too close to cupboards etc etc. good idea, but wasn’t executed too well. Overall, a very satisfied stay here!

Отель замечательный, просторные комнаты, большая ванная,сантехника на уровне, две раковины для умывания-пустячок,а приятно. Балкон тоже большой. Полноценный холодильник-это большой плюс.Бассейн достойный,можно плавать в любое время.Обслуживание персонала не навязчивое, стараются помочь во всём. От пляжа 3 мин пешком. Если приеду в Мириссу,то только сюда.
