DO NOT STAY IN THIS PROPERTY! The old lady that runs it is completely computer illiterate. She has no idea how to receive the money we guests pay to Expedia. She told me she has been hosting guests that come from Expedia for free for years because she doesn't know how it works, and has no idea how to delete her account or remove availability. If you do want to go ahead and book it, know that the facilities are VERY simple; the shower almost has no water coming out. Room is fairly dirty; there's NO WIFI as mention in expedia, and no free breakfast either. The place is about 20min walking from downtown/supermarket/taxi rank.

For Mokhotlong okay but no WiFi and skip the food!
Publié le 10 mars 2020 sur HotelsFor Mokhotlong okay. We received a 4-bed bungalow which was quite nice. The staff appeared to be surprised about our booking because it does not seem to happen quite often that they have European guests. When we asked them about potential activities that could be done in the area, they had no clue. However, when we had any problems or questions they tried to help as well as they can. One big flaw was that although it is listed that there is free Wi-Fi, there was no Wi-Fi at all. Additionally, try to avoid the food because it was really bad (in fact the worst food we had in Africa, my husband even fell sick.). A basic breakfast is included (they are always a bit late for breakfast, so if they tell you it will be at 07:00 AM, don't expect it to be ready before 07:20 AM and by any means, don't drink the juice, it's awful!). Dinner can be added for R 80 per person. They will try to convince you to book the dinner, don't fall for that!
Finally, a big pro was that the guest house was clean and cozy. Just be careful walking around the bungalows in the dark. When we were there, the fences appeared to be still under construction and wild dogs started to chase us.

Unexpected
Publié le 20 févr. 2020 sur HotelsWe did not actually stay here. No one at reception, we had to phone. No booking proof, no register, not expected. Shown to rondavel but not up to standard we expect thru Hotels.com. Polite lady but we did not wish to stay in that dodgy area where vehicle was not next to the accommodation so made our excuses and left

Very nice people (i.e. they helped us with our flat tyre). Clean. If possible, take one of the round huts.

A cold stay
Publié le 24 juill. 2018 sur HotelsIn Lesotho most unpaved streets carry no street names and one has to guess. The signs to the guesthouse were small and difficult to see. The guesthouse was freezing cold and the proprietor supplied 2 small fan heaters which were not sufficient in our large round room. Only plastic chairs were provided. There were no cabinets to hang or lay down clothes so we used a spare bed. The host was helpful and friendly. The staff spoke little english. Food was served in a cold and cramped diningroom full of dressed up plastic chairs and large round tables. The guesthouse was run a bit haphazard but we had no problems.

Little oasis in the midst of dusty chaos
Publié le 1 juin 2018 sur HotelsQuiet little place in the middle of a poor area. The lady of the house extremely pleasant and spoke English. Some of the staff didn't have any English, but everyone was pleasant. I stayed in the Guest House part, but it has also has some well-maintained Rondavels if you want a more traditional stay.
