Do stay here

Publié le 9 oct. 2017 sur Hotels
This is a very nice small hotel with very accommodating staff. We advised that we would be arriving quite late and there was a helpful staff member waiting for us, ready to help with luggage, parking information and anything else we needed. The room was charming and clean and the breakfast was excellent. There are stairs but they are manageable (I am 68 years old and my wife is 66). If you want an elevator and 24 hour reception, stay in a Hilton. If you are looking for a nice small hotel, next to an old castle in a little Italian village, with a beautiful overlook just a few hundred feet away, stay here.

Perfect for short stay in the heart of La Toscana

Pour : staff and surroundings
We were here for a weekend break. The staff were excellent making us feel at home and as if we had been regulars. The restaurant is excellent as we had lunch there and the staff are always on had to answer questions or make the right suggestions. The rooms were clean and tidy with great views across the tuscan hills, picture book stuff. We had a suite which had a little extra room and this was beautifully decorated and very clean. We had a small emergency and the staff could not have done more or be more caring, they even translated for us. The only issue here is parking. There is a car park at the back of the hotel so make sure you leave your car to the left of the car park under the trees as that is FREE. Being a castle on a hill the bags have to taken up a flight of steps, but this is the smallest of quibbles, as i received car parking ticket overnight and the staff took this from me and 'solved' the problem!! It is exactly what you imagine AND better...

Unique Experience

Publié le 2 oct. 2011 sur Hotels
The owners were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. Our main complaint was that the bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was nice. The restaurant was just OK for dinner. There isn't much to the tiny medieval town, but the hotel is connected to a medieval castle, which was kind of special. We ate one night at Osteria delle Crete, just down the street from the hotel and Chef Andrea made us a freshly prepared, delicious meal, and was very friendly and entertaining. The location of the hotel was good for touring Tuscany, but other towns might have more to do than San Giovanni d'Asso.
