Seal Mara, “View of the Sea”, cottage is located in Park Corner, near Darnley, on PEI’s coveted North Shore in the heart of Anne’s Land. Standing alone, with breathtaking 180 degree water views and close proximity to the islands best beaches, this cozy cottage makes the perfect getaway location.
With a beach house feel and coastal themed décor, the kitchen, dining ,and living area is open concept with large windows that let in sunlight and showcase the views of the Atlantic ocean, red sand bluffs, pastoral countryside, and the Lake of Shining Water’s- famous from Lucy Maud Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables. The kitchen is fully equipped with all needed utensils and dishware to cook, bbq, and dine. The wrap around deck is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee while taking in the ocean views and planning your day on beautiful PEI. The large windows continue in the living room which features comfortable furniture, satellite television, and more of those peaceful island views.
Seal Mara has 2 bedrooms, plus a loft area with a pullout sofa, and 2 full bathrooms. The upper level has one bedroom with a queen bed, plus a loft area with a pullout sofa. The main level has a bedroom with a double bed. The bathroom on the main floor has a stand up shower, and the bathroom on the second level has a soaker tub. An outdoor shower is conveniently located off the main floor bathroom at the back of the cottage. Laundry facilities are also located on the main floor.
There is something for everyone at Seal Mara. Space abounds for outdoor activities, (croquet anyone?) in the large yard that surrounds the cottage. Bird lovers will enjoy spotting the many species of birds seen around the cottage, including bald eagles, osprey, northern harrier hawks, and many more. The Anne of Green Gables museum and carriage rides are less than a kilometer away, the birthplace of Lucy Maud Montgomery is less than 10 minutes.
Gorgeous Cousins Shore beach is a 2 minute car ride or a short walk away. Guests of Seal Mara also have access to a private beach exclusively for cottagers in the immediate vicinity.
Famous Thunder Cove Beach in Darnley is also only minutes away, which boasts beautifully shaped cliffs created by nature. Foodies will want to take in PEI’s growing culinary scene, fresh seafood, and restaurants, like The Table Culinary Studio, culinary school and restaurant and winner of the 2017 Taste Our Island Award, which is only about 10 minutes away. If you are a golfer, you will be happy about the close proximity to Darnley Green’s that includes a 9 whole course, as well as laser tag and mini golf.
Park Corner is only 14 minutes away from the town of Kensington. It is home to grocery stores, restaurants, a pub, pharmacy, liquor store, bike rentals, shopping, and attractions (Confederation bike trail, etc.). Cavendish and North Rustico are about 25 minutes away where you will find many restaurants and tourist attractions like deep sea fishing and others, as well as world famous golf courses.
