The property as a whole as well as the unit itself was clean and updated with a great view. However, the staff and many of the guests were rude, disrespectful, and racist to say the least. My guest and I were singled out several times by staff members, my kids were uncomfortable and my spouse was ready to leave the property less than 3 minutes after checking in due to the negative energy and atmosphere. The property staff members as well as other guests have no issue displaying their hate. When you stand tall and confront the people they tuck their tail and hide behind an officer they have on the property. Once the officer is confronted he displays 30 years of hidden hate as well as a lack of diversity and ethics training. My spouse recorded an entire confrontation between a staff member, the officer and I after the staff member and officer singled us out because we were the only melanated crowd at the pool. After I gave them some diversity and ethics training they wanted to run off. If the property doesn't want to host "Blacks" they shouldn't list the units on any travel site. They want our money but don't want our presence. I can assure you, my hard earned money will never go to this property again!! Just like I told the staff members and officer on the property, Melanated ("Black") men and women have roamed this planet since the beginning and we will without a doubt roam this planet long after everyone else is gone 🌞. Spend your money where you will be respected.

Thank you so much for your feedback. We cannot apologize enough for the way you were treated by the HOA staff and other guests. At Southern we do not tolerate discrimination, hate, bullying, or harassment. This is the first time that anything like this has been brought to our attention and would like any documentation to be sent to us directly so we can forward it to the HOA directly and be a voice for you behind closed doors. I am glad that you seemed to enjoy the unit and I do not see that you called in with any issues to our 24/7 Guest Services department. In the future, please bring any concerns to our attention so we can quickly rectify these issues and get your stay back on track. We hope you consider using us again in the future, possibly at a different property. Southern has over 1,600 properties along the Gulf Coast.
