They didnt want to honor our expedia price since they changed ownership. Made us wait till 3 for check in even though room then readyThen took 20 additional minutes to gain approval for rate and only granted when I said I wanted to cancel. No towels in our room. Clean but needs updated.

Very disappointing stay!

The web site is very misleading! If you think your stay is comparable to any hotel/motel with housekeeping services, I can guarantee that you will be sadly disappointed! I rented an apartment suite x 1 wk that was dusty upon arrival. The majority of the front desk staff were not customer friendly and lacked hospitality skills. I was expecting per the website to have a sofa bed or rollaway bed which was not available! I put dirty towels and a garbage bag outside my door which was there x 3 days! Totally unacceptable! I was told on 3 different occasions that my room would be tended … NEVER HAPPENED! I have come to understand that these units are individually owned and I needed to bring my own linens and paper products…I’m sure you’ll agree that this is ridiculous! I’ve been visiting Port Clinton x 35 yrs… I will emphatically say that the Island House Hotel is not a desirable place to stay! You will not get what you think you’re willing to pay. The owner was not accommodating to my request for a discount for the total lack of service!

Disappointed

The hotel was dated and the room could of been cleaner. Check in was a mess. One room booked but had me listed for 2 rooms. Fearful for being charged for a second room I did not request. Staff are not very friendly. We were in and out of the hotel several times over the 4 days and no one greeted us, in any way. Was told nothing about the hotel. Had to request the wifi password. The hotel is listed as having an onsite restaurant and bar. When I asked the hours was told, "there closed because they just bought it". Not sure who they is but there listing needs updated as this was a huge disappointment. We booked the hotel for the onsight convenience. Coffee pot in room was so dirty we could not use it. The complimentary body wash and shampoo was very watered down. Be sure to bring our own. I would not book here again

Staff was nice, Rooms were okay, Clean, Price was in line compared to others, Room was very small, but clean and in order. No maid service between days. No dining / bar.
