The hotel was fine for what we needed. The room was ok, clean but old. The area surrounding the hotel felt very unsafe. There are homeless camps everywhere, literally. There is a park across the street that looks nice enough until you look closer and see questionable people hanging out with masks on their faces covering everything but their eyes. The Portland area in general has gone massively downhill over the years, no matter where you turn there are tents set up with people who are struggling. I was traveling with my dog and had to take her for a little walk while staying there and even though it was a fairly nice Saturday afternoon I felt uncomfortable and unsafe for me and my dog. I was worried that she was going to pick up something unsafe off the ground and eat it. I walked her for about 40 minutes and I felt very relieved to get back to the hotel safely.

It's Nice and Comfy Rooms, Good Customer Service
Publié le 12 sept. 2024 sur HotelsThis hotel is in really good shape! Everything from the beds to the elevator look like it's been remodeled in the past few years. Given the graffitti and dying Lloyd Center Mall next to it, this is a safe oasis. (I've stayed at several Doubletree that were shabby and often had broken furniture or plumbing or electrical issues)
Pros: Clean, everything working, good front desk, close to light rail!
Cons: Close to really unsavory parts of Portland, not close to food, watch out for one way streets surrounding it.

Everything was amazing, except we asked 4 times for a roll away bed and didn't receive one.

The neighborhood the hotel is in is pretty run down. A lot of homeless. Even the main entrance to the hotel lobby stays closed and is only accessible with your room card key or if an employee opens up, due to the problem.
