Publié le 16 sept. 2019 sur HomeAwayThe description of this property is misleading. It is not a tranquil nature resort. It is a family centred motel with waterslides and a pool. As two senior adults we were disappointed and when they could not get the TV to work and the toilet was plugged we decided to leave early. The manager was somewhat understanding and gave us a 50% refund for the night that we did not stay. VRBO was totally unhelpful in all respects. They refused to reimburse the hotel at all for their fee and refused to assist with our concerns. We will avoid using VRBO and it’s sister company HomeAway in the future.

We'd like to address some of the issues you experienced. First and foremost, we are very sorry you were unsatisfied with your stay. We do our best to provide the utmost comfort to our guests and resolve any issues to the best of our abilities.
Unfortunately, you were not aware of our our property's theme prior to arrival and we apologize that you felt you were misled. We are a family-friendly, family-fun resort and strive to be a park-themed resort for families of all ages. However, we clearly state on all our online booking agents that our pools and mini golf course are top attractions in the area. This is listed on all our OTA's (online travel agents). We do not advertise our resort to be a senior getaway, or a quiet spa-like resort. We ask our guests, and anyone that may be reading this, to always check the property you will be staying at to ensure they meet your personal expectations, just like you would seeing a doctor or any other service provider. Guests with pets, allergies, babies, and other needs should always be specified to the property at hand with front desk agents so we can provide optimal service for your stay.
We do our best to resolve any and all issues at hand when they are reported. Our front desk staff have clear policies on what to do in particular situations like yours to ensure guest satisfaction and comfort. We did not receive any notice of complaint or concern until you arrived to the front desk to notify our staff that you were leaving. This was quite concerning. We attempted to resolve your issues, however we did not receive, from you, ample opportunity to persuade you to stay. On-site maintenance staff are always available at hand and TV issues are mostly due to incorrect input from previous guests, which are a very quick fix by our general staff. These issues could have easily been resolved at time of notification, however we did not have much choice but to let you leave. This is always a dispiriting situation for our resort staff and we were sincerely sad to see you to leave. We never want our guests to feel discomforted during their stay.
VRBO, as well as any other OTA's and hotel companies/businesses have clear policies on reimbursement and complaint matters. Unfortunately, the decision to leave our property was yours, and out of our control. The issues you discussed with us were fixable and therefor, not reimbursable.
We hope this clears up some of the issues you experienced.
