Past its best
Publié le 8 févr. 2024 sur HotelsThe photo is misleading and the 4 star rating is inaccurate - it is 2 star. The old house has history and the room with the bay window was very comfortable, but the place is deserted and feels much like a sleepy Australian outback hotel when you have to shout hello to get someone's attention, and the pub is not manned and not open. I cannot comment on other rooms and if you like to be left alone then I suppose it is good value as it is cheaper than other places in the area. There is only breakfast which is rank standard. You have to go out for meals.

Very disappointing stay
Publié le 4 janv. 2024 sur HotelsThe 1st room according to the Manager was never supposed to be rented out. It was dirty, the cup and plate were so dirty it was sticky. The carpets were dirty, dust all over and the couch sponge was pealing out. It was a disgrace. The Manager moved us to another room. No DSTV, the kettle was liking, by the 2nd day no toilet paper. and it seems that the bathroom floor was not cleaned. The room was better. The Manager did feel bad and offer us 2 days to come and visit. It was not a nice experience, and it seems that I was hacked, and they did not receive the 2nd night payment. He was kind to offer us to stay for free. We decided rather to go home, no room service in the morning to clean and nobody there to supply us with toilet paper. The Manager also gave us a bottle sparkling wine that we really appreciate. It was so disappointing. We also took Fotos of the 1st room. I will not recommend Riebeek Valley Hotel. They really need to change their view on cleaning the Hotel. It is a beautiful place.

The hotel room and staff where wonderful. The only thing is that the place in general is run down and needs some work done. The indoor pool area is not very welcoming its untidy. But nevertheless it was a great place.

Slightly faded hotel with somewhat shabby décor, but situated in an amazingly beautiful setting with lovely colonial furnishings.
Courtney and her staff are friendly and the breakfast is perfectly acceptable and filling. Rooms are either inside the hotel with Victorian period fixtures and fittings or outside, with more ordinary furniture, but with showers.
Excellent value for money but don't expect glitz.

Disgusting, will not recommend
Publié le 27 sept. 2020 sur HotelsThe carpeting was filthy, the cupboards where damaged, no TV, no lights in building, no lights to our room, gate locked. Checked in morning, came back later, terrible situation. Security opened the gate and we had to find our way in darkness. Breakfast was oily and disgusting. What you advertise and show on your webSite, might have applied 25 years ago, but certainly not today. This should not even be advertised as a place to stay.

It's an old building, not very well kept, but there is hot water and a bed with a mattress that needs replacing. Generally ok, maybe slightly over priced. Room 14 didn't have a kettle. The signage could do with a little tlc, don't go in at the back gate off of Langstraat...
