The architecture is amazing, between a castle and an abbey. Sadly, there is poor management. There are no qualified services like restaurants, restrooms, or customer service, but in the end, that keeps it less crowded.

A great location but needs a fair bit of work
Posted Jun. 8, 2024 on HotelsA good stay but it would have been better if the bar was open, not just at weekends and there was an option for the evening meal (which was OK but only just). The evening meal was "almost cold" seafood soup followed by "warm" salmon. No choice. We weren't even told about it.
Staff were great and what made the visit extra special was the beautiful mass the following morning at 11:00. It says it's a 13 min walk but it's not, you need a car.
Very weak wifi in the room and no aircon which would be a problem in the heat of the summer.
Beautiful location and a nice stop but it needs a fair bit of work being done to it to make it a stunning stopover.

Beautiful location at the foot of the Cross in a Benedictine monastery.

A charming monastery hotel within the valley of the fallen. Simple rooms offer a taste of monastic life in the quiet beauty of the valley. Guests should be prepared for simple dining fare at fixed, very Spanish hours: 9 am breakfast and 8:30 dinner.

Amazing experience
Posted Jun. 24, 2019 on HotelsThoroughly enjoyed this unique location and very very interesting historically . The whole area is beautiful which seems fitting for the many people who are buried here . Special mention to Pablo who was exceptionally polite and welcoming and supplied us with much information . Customer service at its best ! Would give 5 stars for everything except the beds - they were on the hard side but it did not detract from our time there . It really should be on your ‘to do’ list - you won’t regret it . Thank you xxx
