Dear Mr. SnijdersThank you for taking the time to report back on your stay at the, The Elegant Desert Camp. We truly regret you did not enjoy your stay with us and that we fell short of your expectations. Part of the appeal of Elegant Desert Camp is because of the location of the Pool & Pool Bar on top of the hill, giving our guests an exceptional view over the desert landscape and to be able to experience some of the most breathtaking sundowners. It is a property whose appeal lies with the close harmony with nature and its surroundings, trying to have a minimalist impact, compared to our usual mainstream property. We apologize for the lack of suitable seating at the pool area. The preponderance of guests sit on the hanging swing chairs at the pool bar. We have experienced some heavy winds and most chairs have been taken down from the deck for repairs, both due to being blown but also for some revarnishing. We acknowledge that we should have ensured they were back in time and that they should have been present. This has been remedied as we appreciate our shortcoming. We do regret that you did not enjoy your accommodation due to the lack of maintenance within your tent. We have realized that the cupboards have become broken due to the weight from some of the guests’ suitcases being placed on them. We regret that, notwithstanding how good the cupboards looked when purchased, the wood itself is compressed and not suitable for our conditions. This is being remedied but the replacements have not yet arrived. Our whole network system has been out of order since Thursday (09.05.24) night due to a lightning strike and meaning our Booking System have not been able to sync with our main service in Windhoek. Therefore, it still showed that your accommodation bill has not been paid yet. But we do apologize for the lack of communication on the ground and that they again asked you to pay for the accommodation when you checked out after it have been sorted out on the first day already. Our only relief was your comment that notwithstanding that we failed to meet your expectations, that the staff was friendly and the meals and drinks good.This is not the standard we deliver and as apology we would invite you back in future and host you at our cost to apologize for our shortcoming and show you real Elegant hospitality. We regret that we were not able to resolve your issues during your stay.
