the room had bugs and cobweb, the bathroom was not cleaned and prep for our arrival. it appears that there was construction done to the room prior to our arrival and no one clean up after they were done. there was no food and water on the property we had to walked downhill for i mile and hike back up the hill with water for drinking. the food that was served on the first night was staled and awful. therefore, we checkout early.

Please, do not book this hotel. The place was a construction field, as the hotel was not even open to accept visitors. They didn't even know I booked. The name is referring to a SPA, which is totally not existing. There was no reception neither a bar and the restaurant had no menu, you could only choose chicken or fish. The food was however pricy The room had no mirror in the bathroom and doors could not properly close. Also no television. My worst stay ever.

We thank you for your response and your stay with us. However, as reiterated on our website as well as all booking sites we are currently under renovations (90% complete)- we have rooms available for rental. Our Spa has been closed down for renovations as we felt that our guests deserve a 5 star experience. Please note, our place is not a construction field as we had finished majority of the construction. Also, we would like to add that we had done everything that you had requested with no additional charge (seeing that we are still under renovations). At our Chalet, we gladly invite feedback as we seek to improve and please our guests. Furthermore, no complaints were made until your check out time when payment was to be made for meals. We did honour your request for meals to be free,as such the threat of a bad review came to light. Indeed, we are a work in progress. However, we will not stand for such threats. Here, at Starlight Chalet we strive to improve all our facilities to ensure that our guests have the greatest experience in the Blue Mountains and overall our beautiful country Jamaica. We encourage rest, relaxation and rejuvenation of the mind, body and soul. Therefore, no televisions will be placed in the rooms. However, for future we will have them in the main areas so as to not disconnect from the world. Additionally, WiFi will be made accessible for all rooms. Currently, Wifi is only present in the main areas. Again, we want our guests to have a getaway from the hustle and bustle and take a breath of nature in its finest state. Unfortunate experience; false advertising

The place was nothing like it was advertised as, and can only be reached via unnerving stretch of mountain roads (particularly Section road); and I thank Hotels.com for reimbursing me the prepaid charge for the one night stay. Thank you so much Hotels.com; it was not expected and truly appreciated. Hotel is unfinished; dusty from renovations. No spa (jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, etc). Patio unusable due to renovations. Two bedroom Azalea suite non-existent; it was a room with two beds. No restaurant - they cook "to order." No other guests although one was expected which was highly doubtful. Flights of steps to the room not the easiest to carry heavy suitcases. Two staff members there and no one else. It was disturbing and put me so ill at ease that we just left. Our very experienced driver looked relieved too. He was not looking forward to coming back the next day to get us. The Starlight is not ready for guests and they really need to do something about warning guests that the access road is dangerous; slippery when wet and it rains frequently periodically; road has room for only one vehicle so if there's another coming from the opposite direction...good luck. And their contact phone is barely ever in working order so you may or may not ever reach them.

Spectacular views of the Mountains.

Pour : Location, Layout, rustic feel.
Contre : Some modernizations, but these are underway for the benefit of future guest. I'll be back to check them out.
Emplacement : Viewing the mountains. Hiking, hidden streams, coffee plantations
Views are great, and with the renovation currently started, it's going to be an amazing respite in the mountains. You can hike to many destinations there. It's not the most convenient place to start if you would like to hike to the top of The Blue Mountains but you can get to the top of several other peaks with spectacular views including Cinchona. The staff is excellent and the chalet has a very French feel to it. Driving to the top will be a challenging, but that's a treat in itself.

Too Far Up Hill

It was the worse. Fire Alarm was missing from the holder. Roaches were on the front desk at check-in. Bugs were flying in my room and right outside the door. Forget trying to find it up Blue Mountain. The road there was narrow and mostly unpaved.

Starlight Chalet and Health Spa is located in the Hills of St. Andrew, Blue Mountains. All rooms with ensuite bathrooms have water heaters.
