Raging party next door!

Publié le 4 nov. 2024 sur HomeAway
This house was adequate for our needs. The house has been redone but only certain areas were redone. The kitchen and bathroom were nice but the rest of the house is aging with little attention to fixing it (door of the master bedroom was falling off. The major issues: 1) there is no working heat- space heaters were supplied which kept the bedrooms a comfortable temp, but the rest of the house including the bathroom were quite cold. The window units were left in the windows - we were there in late October- creating quite a draft. Management was completely unresponsive to this issue when we asked if we could move the window units to shut the windows properly. 2. They rent to anyone. The unit next door which was also a rental was a bunch of twenty something’s who threw a raging party with cops at 3am and multiple fights in the lot outside. All of the stuff in the contract about security and cameras etc is bs.

I had a nice visit in Stroudsburg in February. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had plenty of dishes etc. I like to cook my breakfast daily. It’s a neat townhouse from the 1920’s (?) but is all renovated. Spacious. Three bedrooms. Quiet (except I did hear the family next door when they were talking) but it wasn’t bad. Bring ear plugs, if you are a light sleeper. And there were a few cars and a couple of trucks that drive by at 7am. Not a problem if you get up early. (I sleep in !) The heat worked well. It takes a little bit to warm up, but once it does it’s fine. There were AC units in all the bedroom windows. The decor is very simple, could use a couple more lamps in the downstairs. I would stay here again. It’s two minutes to town. Or a 10 minute walk. Plenty of restaurants and cute shops. Good record store. I like the Yard Of Ale for good food. They also have a Starbucks. Antique shopping. And nice walking trails.
