Communication before checking in was really poor. To date I have not been contacted about my query. We even tried to phone them but they didn’t pick up. (Including Hotel.com themselves)
During the stay it was not much better: we requested an additional bed/mattress (room was supposed to sleep 3) but only received this after asking twice and on the second day of our trip. We also requested for a bathrobe but this was only given to us on day 4 of our booking.
Staff were friendly so no issues there but they don’t seem to respond to queries unless you ask multiple times.
There seems to be a mild bed bug problem as 2/3 of us were bitten on legs and back. However I do have high praise for being mosquito free which is really hard in Bangladesh so well done!
Facilities were really nice, in and out of the room; however the WiFi was atrocious to the point where 3G did a better job hotspotting my laptop than the actual WiFi and I was unable to work; definitely an area of improvement for working travellers.
Food was really nice, loved the breakfast options!!
The pool and skyline view were exceptions in my opinion.
Can see that this hotel is on its way up to being really good but still improvements required.

We really liked our stay here and we were very well looked after. We had booked 3 rooms as a family and as it was during the protests/riots recently the hotel was practically empty so we got the pick of the rooms. Sanzina at reception really looked after us and made sure we had everything we needed. The rest of the staff were very accommodating aswell especially the guy who cleaned my room as he made sure I had 3 towels everyday & just got me whatever I needed. I had the corner room which had two big windows which I liked (I am claustrophobic) so wouldn’t have wanted a room with no or small windows. Breakfast was generally good, I would however recommend more fruit and/or healthier foods ie wholemeal chapatti. Just a few minor points, there is a damp smell in some areas which the hotel is trying to sort out, but it is a hot humid country so probably difficult, maybe tiled flooring would be better. I would also recommend having creamer or milk in the rooms for tea/coffee, maybe change up the variety at breakfast a bit more as we were there for 10 nights and the brekkie got a bit boring albeit there was a good selection. Overall a great hotel, probably the best in the area and we all felt at home and the staff looked after us very well.

I enjoyed staying at the Hotel, Zakir was very attentive to my needs. The hotel is ideally located and has a very good standard. I would recommend it to others.
I was a little disappointed though with the gym out of service. I guess something like this can't always be avoided.

This place is nothing like the photos. Hotel is completely outdated. I booked the royal double room it was so small and was not what the pictures showed. Bathroom shower floor was broken, and sink, super dirty. Place just needs renovation. Greeting from Reception was poor. Eventually they gave me much better room, transportation going to this hotel is very bad because there is construction front of the hotel. Overall I would not recommend if you’re looking for a clean place. Breakfast was decent and do not provide bottle water and have to pay.
Floor Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Sylhet, never again.........
Publié le 15 déc. 2023 sur HotelsOverall, this hotel looks good. Apart from cleanliness, hygiene. Not all rooms have a window that can be opened or there is no window to open at all. The windows are so dirty that you can hardly see anything outside. The rooms are cleaned with some smelly chemicals/Grand Suite room/. You can also book room 915 or 916 directly at the hotel /The Royal Suites/. These rooms are equipped with a small kitchenette, NO plates, pots, cutlery, just nothing. If you want to cook something, you have to go to the store and buy something to cook and eat. This kitchen is just decoration.
As for the city of Sylhet, it is a city where, after leaving the hotel, you are attacked by street beggars. At every turn, there is no place in this city without people collecting money. This is really very unpleasant and makes you not want to take a normal walk on the street.
Apart from tea fields and two rivers over 50 km away, there is nothing to look at.

Enjoyable hotel with great service
Publié le 12 nov. 2023 sur HotelsWe enjoyed our stay, although the hotel is a little rough around the edges. Some of the rooms had an awful chemical smell, the noise pollution from outside was 24/7. Staff are really helpful and friendly, service from hotel staff was excellent but the hotel restaurants were very slow. Location is great for shopping trips in Sylhet.
