Platte - RV Camper in the Woods with Fire pit & Hot Tub Access

The Platte Camper - Older RV/Camper located in our side/back yard. We own 40 acres of woods with several trails through the woods. This camper is not spectacular and is slightly dated, but has water, electricity, Air Conditioning, a refrigerator, stove top and cooking stove, shower and other basic necessities. There is a shared outdoor hot tub that is available for use. We do have a fire pit just outside the camper.

PLEASE NOTE - This is an older camper in the woods. We try to keep it clean and cozy, but don't expect a plush hotel at a camper price. Most people who understand this leave us great feedback, but those who expect a great hotel room at a camper price are sometimes disappointed. There are many other lodging options in the area that are much nicer, but you also have to pay two to three times more - especially in the prime summer months.

Great stay!
My family of 4 with young kids really enjoyed the camper. The host was very prompt with addressing concerns. We enjoyed using the firepit and the hot tub. It was 30 min drive from Sleeping Bear. All in all, great experience and affordable!

Secluded Hideaway
The property is a nice secluded little hideaway, but close enough to tons of activities and great places to eat. Our host was friendly and accommodating. The Platte Camper is a little aged, but in good shape and made for comfortable camping. We took advantage of the fire pit each night we stayed and the hot tub after a day of hiking at Sleeping Bear Dunes.

Location
Property was just as described. It is a fully functional older camper, perfectly suitable for 2 adults and up to 2 teens or 3 smaller children (IMHO). I enjoyed the hottub only once before my trip was cut short. It is next to the deck on back of house. We did find the bed somewhat hard, but added another comforter to sleep on and that helped a lot. Scott is readily available for assistance.

Perfect for What was Needed
This property was just as described. Nothing special in terms of outstanding amenities, but it did exactly what we needed! A warm comfy place to sleep, & cook a hot crock pot meal. Most of our time was spent outside the camper doing activities around the area, so if you just need a place to sleep, eat and jet, this is a great idea for the price! Also the WIFI worked great, we brought a small TV to watch the football games in the evening! Lastly, the communication with the owner was great. If you know what you are getting into (read descriptions and pictures) with this property, then it will be an excellent stay!

Beautiful restful spot....
The camper was perfect for us (2 adults, one small child). It's in the middle of a beautiful wooded lot. The other campers are positioned perfectly, which gives plenty of privacy. The water was hot. We used the stove top and it worked well and was easy. The bathroom is small, so if you are a bigger person perhaps it may be tight, although we had no problems and it was perfect for us. We were able to take a nice stroll on the property also. The location is amazing and close to Gwen Frostic museum, The cherry hut, Frankfort, Sleeping Bear, and Empire. We had a blast. Thank you.

Great woodsy camper for a fall weekend!
We enjoyed our stay in the Platte camper! It was clean, well stocked with everything listed and in good repair for an older camper. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen accommodated cooking a big breakfast in the morning. For us, it was “glamping”with way more privacy and trees than you’d find at a campground. The location is ideal for experiencing everything the Leelanau peninsula has to offer. Our outdoor plans encountered some rain and we had some great evenings cozied up playing cards and games inside. We will definitely book here again!

Platte camper provided for our needs, being an affordable, clean, camper with a responsive property owner. Im guessing the camper is around 20 years old. It is not fancy, but it did all we needed.

Don’t do it.
This is a very old camper on property near a single family home. I wasn’t expecting much but the moldy coffee grounds in the coffee pot ruined even my low expectations.

The pictures make this property look a lot nicer than it actually is. We drove up to find the camper doors flown wide open to let any sort of living creature inside of it. The carpet in front of the camper has seen its better days and is as thin/cheap as can be. Half the lights don't work inside, and the other half that did work would flicker when the air came on. The bathtub floor was dirty, so I wore flip flops to shower. The shower floor was soft by the drain making me assume it is rotten wood underneath. The camper itself APPEARED clean, but the outside of the property and the environment surrounding it was in major need of TLC, so it made us wonder how clean the property actually was. The hot tub that's advertised is right in their backyard, so it is on full display if you want to jump in for a soak. Overall, the camper itself is OKAY. However, I would pay double what I paid for this lodging to stay somewhere else. What you pay versus what you get here does not align. And I was shocked to see so many 5 star reviews because I would give it two stars at best. We will not be staying here again.
