Beautiful cottage

Feels like home away from home. Thank you for making it such a comfortable place to stay and for making communication so easy. Grateful to have found this sweet gem! Looking forward to the next stay!

Great weekend spot
Publié le 9 oct. 2024 sur HomeAwaySpent a couple days at this lovely little cottage. We were able to explore on our bikes and visited Gooseberry Island. The weather cooperated, and we were able to get all we needed at the local market (Lees is AWESOME). The cottage was spotless, the bed was comfy, and we appreciated the water dispenser. The host was very upfront about the sometimes brackish water, which was the only downside - to our entire stay.

I’m so glad you enjoyed your stay! The well water in that area can definitely wax and wane. I provide a fresh 5 gallon jug with dispenser for drinking and cooking to each guest :0) I’ve explored obtaining a water storage tank in the past… navigating the red tape proved to be Herculean… it’s one of the few properties that is located on conservation land. I haven’t given up though. Thank you for choosing me as your host and I hope you visit again.

Perfect for a fall beach getaway!

Seaside Cottage
Publié le 18 août 2024 sur HomeAwayWe just stayed a week there for the second summer in a row. The main draw is that it’s a lovely, well appointed cottage in a part of Westport where it’s very very difficult to get building permits.
I love hearing the waves from the patio. I love biking to Horseneck Beach. I love feeling very remote.
And it is remote. So there is no municipal water. This cottage uses well water which was a bit of a learning curve for me after always having tap water.

So glad you returned a second time and you enjoyed your stay! That is a particularly tough area for well water and this property is one of the few that directly abuts the conservation land and the ocean inlet. The water is potable but depending on the time of year can definitely be brackish. But as you (and several other guests) noticed it is much better this year, and I hope to make continual improvements. The location can't be beat for a true serene beach getaway. Short getaway

Owner responded quickly when we were unable to use water dispenser, tried to have another delivered but told us it was ok to just take the top off to use it due to delivery not available that day. Overall was a pleasant stay

I apologize that the dispenser was not working during your stay but no worries-each guest is provided with a fresh 5 gallon jug no matter how much or how little water is used. I switched from an electric dispenser to a mechanical pump one which seems to be more reliable/durable. Great Seaside Escape
Publié le 4 août 2024 sur HomeAwayThis cottage is a perfect place for beach lovers. I highly recommend bringing a bike so you can explore around the area. It is also an easy way to go to the beach since you need a Westport Parking Permit for some of the beaches. Although Horseneck State beach is a short distance and parking is reasonably priced. Bring your water shoes as the beaches are rocky but the waves and water are fabulous.
The cottage was well equipped with everything you need. The AC worked perfect during the hot and humid days and is very quiet.
The host was responsive and answered all my questions. Thank you for all the thought put into the cottage!
