I chose to drive a little further from Belgium to Aachen, Germany, because the photos of Campus Boardinghouse were nice and the price was excellent. The best part was that the photos were accurate and the price was a bargain. I ended up with a very large studio with a kitchen and large bathroom in a room that was comfortable and remarkably quiet despite being next to a major road. The location is less than 100 meters from the town of Vaals, Netherlands, on the road to Maastricht from Aachen. Check-in was simple, the unit was clean and comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. You need a car as the hotel is at the edge of town but you could walk to Vaals or a bit further in the direction of Aachen to purchase food or go to a restaurant. There is not much on site but you can purchase breakfast if that is all you need. There is an Aldi's and a larger Etso grocery store in Vaals as well as a number of restaurants. Check-out was as simple as leaving the key in the door inside and leaving the door closed. I found it convenient and comfortable and would stay again if I were in the area. Aachen was Charlemagne's capital and the Cathedral he had built is impressive, as is the Townhall, an impressive Baroque-style building grafted onto much older fortifications.
