I would say that the hotel was adequate for a nights stay. I wouldnt want to stay for much more than that.
The rooms look nice, and you can see the look that they are trying to aim for, but they're very basic. You can immediately tell that the rooms have been decorated on a budget.
Simple things like the curtains dont fully cluse, so when you're getting dressed with the lights on and its dark outside, the people in the building opposite can see straight in.
It's not particularly well staffed. There is a receptionist/barman at most times only.
Breakfast wes pretty good though, and was included in the price.
Aalen is a very picturesque german town, and the hotel was ideally situated for this.
Note, there are several side streets nearby where it's free to park your car overnight, so its not necessary to pay for car parking.
