First, I wasn't sure if anyone was working there because there was a sign on the door to ring the bell. I rang, but nobody came to the door or buzzed me in. Finally, I just pulled on the door and it opened. There was a guy sitting at the counter, he was non-chalant, just there doing his job, not being personable, just getting the key, saying the room #, and that's it.
The room smelled horrible, smoke permeated from the walls, the ceiling, the bedspread, and especially that filthy carpet. There was a cigarette burn on the air-conditioniner. I didn't make a deal out of any of it because I had decided that I would change my clothes, go do what I needed to do, come back and go to another hotel.
Another thing I didn't like was how folks were loitering around with their doors opened. This made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I was grateful that my friend was with me when I got there because if I was by myself, as soon as I walked in, I would've walked out, but we were going somewhere, so I had to shower and change my clothes.
Speaking of showers... The bathroom was the best part of the room. The tub was big and a the room was nicely tiled.
This place just reminded me of where people come to do drugs, smoke, and hook up.
I did not stay the night!
It's time for a makeover!
