Beautiful secluded villa with private pool in peaceful hamlet

This beautiful villa offers everything you could imagine of a holiday away from the typical tourist trail.We have had excellent reviews from our past guests so we are sure you will enjoy it too. Set in an elevated position at the edge of a small hamlet, the villa is in a large beautifully landscaped, private plot. The mountain views that surround the villa are particularly stunning. The villa has it's own secluded outdoor pool within it's spacious garden and own fruit trees. There is also a pétanque court. The area is perfect for walking or cycling or just relaxing by the pool and taking in the peaceful location. Inside the tastefully decorated villa, it has everything you need to make your stay a memorable one. The local town of Albox is only a 5 minute drive and this quaint Spanish town holds a market on Tuesdays and has a selection of shops, bars and restaurants. You could be at the nearest beach within 40 minutes where you could swim in the Mediterranean Sea. The nearest golf course is a short drive away. However you decide to spend your well earned holiday, we are sure you will be enchanted by the beautiful villa and setting. This villa is fully fenced and gated and the pool is also gated which makes it very safe for children,

Superbes vacances

Un sans-faute, tout simplement. Quatre semaines de pur bonheur dans un lieu absolument splendide. L'endroit est paisible, proche de toutes les commodités et offre une vue magnifique. Nous n'avons manqué de rien, de la climatisation aux équipements divers, tout était parfait. Un grand merci à Bill qui a su se montrer très réactif au moindre problème.

Not a relaxing vacation…

Villa Maydell is a very nice property, well equipped & comfortable. The pool was clean & well maintained by Roy who is an absolute GEM! The villa sits in well established & secluded grounds, ideally situated for visiting the local area & a short distance from Albox town. However, for all its plus’s, Villa Maydell has an extremely busy main road & junction running directly alongside the rear of the property; the immediate neighbour appears to run a ‘builder’s business’ from his property, with heavy plant machinery belching diesel fumes everywhere & moving building materials on a regular basis. So we had the constant road noise, the added builder’s business noise plus we also had the immediate neighbour’s dogs that would bark at anytime of the ‘day or night’ for up to 2 hours at a time… as a result of all this we had to sleep with the windows shut and the shutters down all the time, in order to try to get ‘some sleep’. Villa Maydell is not situated in a ‘peaceful hamlet’ as advertised.

Villa is in a great location in a quiet hamlet 5mins drive from Albox great scenery. Bill was very friendly quick responses when needed help or advise. Swimming pool was clean and was cleaned once a week whilst we were there. Well equipped home from home would definitely book again

What can I say? This villa has everything you will need for a fabulous holiday. It has beautiful surroundings, fab pool and a great interior. It really is perfect. Bill is great to deal with. Upon arrival, we had to redo the dishes, because a lot of plates, forks, etc were a bit greasy. But ampart form that: all was more than well. Wonderful house, great surroudings, lots to do and to visit in Almeria Province.

Heerlijk ontspannen verblijf in Casa Maydell

Het huis is ruimtelijk ingedeeld, fijne slaapkamers, goede bedden met ruime kledingkasten. Een leuk welkomstpakket en direct contact of alles in orde was. Sommige meubels, zijn aan vervanging toe. Wanneer er problemen waren, werden die direct opgelost. Het zwembad is heerlijk en wordt onderhouden door een super aardige leuke man. Zeer behulpzaam! Het was een top vakantie! Zeker een aanrader.

Casa Maydell - Relax

Casa Maydell is relaxing, well equipped and perfectly situated. Very simple check in with minimal disruption throughout our stay. There are plenty of amenities close by whilst still maintaining a good separation from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. A beautiful, clean and modern villa which is comfortably equipped for the rare rainy days. We had a fantastic, relaxing stay and wholeheartedly recommend this property. We would gladly go here again.

Nice roomy property

The house is bigger than equivalent properties in Spain. It has all the necessary appliances in the kitchen. We appreciated the conservatory and the chimney, which make the house confortable in winter. You have to be aware that you cannot put paper or anything in the toilet though...

Three weeks in Casa Maydell, Albox

We all enjoyed our stay at the Casa Maydell, an ideal base for exploring the Albox, Cantoria and Arboleas area as well as relatively easy access to the coast for Mojacar, Garrucha and Vera. Bill and Jason Maydell have been extremely accessible and helpful hosts, responding quickly yo any queries which was very helpful. It was also a pleasure to meet Roy each Thursday who maintains the swimming pool to a high standard. We would have no hesitation in recommending the Casa Maydell to family and friends.

Casa Rural Muy Especial

Hemos estado muy agusto, es una propiedad muy grande y muy bien pensada, la piscina vallada ideal si tienes niños pequeños, el gobernador es el preámbulo entre la casa y la piscina, la casa está muy bien equipada, (por ponerle alguna pega le falta una batidora o minipimer) tiene cafetera Nespresso y su espumador de leche, hay muchos cubiertos de plástico que vienen bien para los pequeños de la casa, la recomendamos al 100 % y seguro volveremos!! Gracias a nuestros anfitriones a Neme y Bill por la cesta de bienvenida y por hacer que nuestra estancia fuera afable y tranquila.

Perfect!

We finally managed to have our 2 weeks at Casa Maydell in early June 2021. Originally booked in January 2020, for June 2020, we found Bill to be extremely accommodating when we had to rearrange several times due to Covid restrictions, not only did he offer a full refund if we wanted to cancel, or allowing changes of dates free of charge, but also ensuring we wouldn’t lose out through exchange rate fluctuations. A first class host! We found the villa with no problems, using the coordinates provided and accessed the property with ease, thanks to the very clear instructions. The property was spotlessly clean and fully equipped for our stay, with a lovely ‘welcome basket’ of food & drink. Neme arrived a few minutes after we did and explained everything we needed to know, making us feel very welcome. The villa is tranquil without being isolated or overlooked and the pool area is private with plenty space for sunbathing. The shaded pergola was ideal for outside dining and the conservatory was perfect for watching the occasional thunderstorm! The property is perfectly situated only a few minutes drive from Albox, where all amenities can be found. All in all we had a lovely time at Casa Maydell and wholeheartedly recommend it. Home away from home

Word of advice - use the directions provided by the owner and not Google maps! Perfect base for exploring Albox, Vera, Mojaca etc. Great communication with owner and some lovely, VERY helpful other contacts who also helped us. The ‘front room’ area is brilliant and makes you feel particularly at home with English TV etc. All rules/instructions/guides all very easy to use. Essentially, if you treat the villa with the same respect you would your own home, you won’t have any issues. The rooster nearby is ‘vocal’ but I found it quite charming!

A Great Villa

We were greeted with a warm welcome when we arrived at this villa, which was just the right start for the very enjoyable fortnight we spent there. It's spotlessly clean, fully equipped and in a great location. We were pleasantly surprised by how cool it was inside compared to villas we've stayed at previously, thanks to the light breeze that can be encouraged through with the doors and windows open. Due to having two young children, we were pleased to find the garden very securely fenced and gated. The villa also benefits from an intruder alarm and has CCTV on the periphery, which was reassuring when were out. Merilyn is a superb host and very professional. She was always quick to respond to any questions we had and made sure we had a great time at her fantastic villa. Thanks, Louise, Robert and the two children
