Our stay at sol e mar was great. The location is great, right on the beach and a few minutes walk to the old town. The staff are lovely and the food was nice. Not a lot of entertainment in the evening but plenty of places to go to in oldtown but sometimes it’s nice to stay in hotel. Maybe a quiz night and a bit more entertainment but I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again

Really enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful property, fabulous location. Staff very friendly. Rooms are clean, great a/c, plenty of storage also. Fast wifi. Beds comfortable. Breakfast is in a beautiful room overlooking ocean. Stunning sunrise, sunsets from patio. I would love to return here.

Sol e Mar in Albufeira is an absolute gem of a hotel that exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the warm and friendly welcome from the staff. The location is truly unbeatable, offering stunning views of the ocean and easy access to the beach. The rooms were spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated, providing a comfortable stay. I especially enjoyed the balcony overlooking the sea - the perfect spot to relax and take in the breathtaking sunsets. The hotel facilities were top-notch, including a fantastic pool area, and a variety of dining options to suit every taste. The breakfast spread was delicious, with a wide selection of fresh fruits, pastries, and hot dishes. What truly sets Sol e Mar apart is the exceptional level of service. Every staff member I encountered was attentive, knowledgeable, and quick to assist with any request. Their dedication to ensuring guests have a memorable stay was evident throughout my visit. We rented two rooms for a 2-night stay at this hotel. The location is perfect! The employes are very pleasant. That is the end of the positives. Both rooms had the smell of sewage. As you walk into the bathroom, you can hear the pipes struggling with the sewage. The smell was horrible. Both nights we called reception. Reception came to both rooms and added spray that did not help. The manager, Luis, was rude, loud and honestly, did not care to even help. His solution was for us to contact Hotels.com. To me, he should not be in that position. We traveled Portugal for 12 days and this was the ONLY bad experience we had. I recommend finding another hotel until this sewer issue is resolved and Luis is replaced with another manager willing to help. At a minimum, it is off-season, and he should have offered to move us to another room. Not a pleasant situation. Let's not forget the mold in the shower! This is not sanitary.

Picked this area for the beach accessibility and it was perfect. Room was clean and staff daily tidied up the room. The breakfast buffet had a great assortment of food and beverages and staff again were great. If I had to think of one thing that did disappoint it would have to be the slow or missing service in the lobby bar in the evening. If I were to return to the area, I would definitely go back to this hotel.

Good room with good bed but only three pillows. The view was amazing and the breakfast buffet very good. Great,location! Nespresso coffee maker was great but only coffee pods for the first day. Plastic glasses in in plastic wrap. Not very environmental and cheap. I found this quite disappointing for a four star hotel.

Be aware this is a smoking hotel, they said no smoking in the room only on the balcony but guest do smoke in there rooms. You can smell it in the hallways . Our balcony door was left open to air out the room Ocean view Wes’s Beautiful beach was great buffet breakfast ok. Had to park quite far to find parking stay was not helpful no electrical plug in bathroom and towels were small and old. Don’t believe this is a 4 star or 8.8 in my option.
