Short stay in ABQ

Kids, I assume, were running across the room above us past midnight and restarted around 5am. Not the hotels fault, but annoying. But the shower/tub faucet was falling out of the wall. Literally moved 3-4 inches in every direction and had enough silicon on it to caulk a small apartment. Beds were not comfortable, but not terrible. Still not up to the standards I normally expect on the Hampton Inn brand. To be fair, for the price, the value was solid.

Pet Fee is Ridiculous

Overall, the hotel is clean and comfortable. The room was clean. Bed comfortable. Breakfast is average but the same as all hotels that offer free breakfast. My biggest issue is the pet fee. All other Hampton hotels I’ve stayed at, the pet fee is a flat $25. Here it is $75 PLUS TAX!!! Seriously. Tax! That’s $80 to have a puppy with you. It’s ridiculous to think that they charge 70% of the total cost of the room for a puppy! Especially since they have absolutely zero amenities for a dog. No grass. No puppy park. Nowhere to walk him, other than rocks. I get that it’s by the airport, but if you’re charging me $80 for my dog to sleep in the room, you should use that money to offer a place to walk them. Where does that $80 go? I could see taking a $100 deposit and if there is any damage, the hotel keeps the deposit. But to charge $80 for a one night stay with a puppy is ridiculous. I love Hampton Hotels. But might have to consider other options.

My room seemed a little dated- cracks in the walls, missing conditioner, they didn't have the little makeup remover wipes or vanity set or even a shower cap- just little things you tend to usually see in the room at a Hamptons hotel without having to ask for at the front desk.
