A spacious private house on the spectacular Silver Coast just a 10-15 minute drive from beaches and coastal towns.
Casa Botanica is set in a peaceful location overlooking oak woodlands and farmland within the sound of church bells and sheep bells. It is on the edge of a traditional Portuguese village and just a short stroll to local cafés, a children's playground and a well stocked minimarket.
The historic town of Alcobaca, with its 12th Century UNESCO monastery is only 2kms away and it's where you will find a wide range of restaurants and bars. A coffee and cake in the large square in front of the Cistercian monastery is a must.

The well-furnished property is close to superb beaches including the world-famous surfing beach of Praia do Norte, Nazare (12km) and many other attractions. There are beaches for all tastes and abilities. The beaches at Sao Martinho do Porto and Foz de Arelho beaches are particularly ideal for younger children.
Many sports are available locally from cycling and horse riding to para gliding and kite surfing.

For those who like hill walking the stunning mountains of Serra de Aire e Candeeiros (19km) are breath-taking and include olive groves, a huge network of underground caves and prehistoric dinosaur footprints.

To discover the nearby towns of Nazare, Sao Martinho do Porto (16km) and Obidos (33km) - a car would be beneficial although there is a good network of public transport.

Casa Botanica is the perfect place for family gatherings, either to unwind, explore the local area or use as a base to explore Central Portugal including the cities of Coimbra (50 minutes) and Lisbon (75 minutes) with all the amazing attractions they have to offer. Also close by are the historic cities of Batalha (22km), the pilgrimage town of Fatima (43km) and Tomar (65km) with its castle and convent of the Knights Templar. Be sure to visit Casa Botanica's social media pages as there are frequent updates on the various attractions and activities available to enjoy on the Silver Coast region.

Great care has been taken with the furnishing of Casa Botanica mixing contemporary comfort with traditional Portuguese crafts, photographs and vintage furniture.

The spacious living room has a wood burner (wood included), 50” smart TV and double doors leading onto a terrace and an attractive front garden.

There is a large dining room with double doors leading to a balcony with views of the back garden which includes a hot tub and terraced areas (by Summer 2024). A quiet seating area at the far end of the dining room is an ideal space to relax or play one of the many available board games.

The kitchen-diner is well-appointed for those who want to dine in with enough plates, glasses and cutlery to entertain10 people with a coffee maker, microwave and a dishwasher. For al fresco dining a covered seating area and large BBQ is situated adjacent to the kitchen with elevated views of the neighbouring countryside.

All the bedrooms are spacious and have fitted wardrobes.
Bedroom 1 has a king-sized bed and an ensuite bathroom with double sized bath, shower and twin basins. This ground floor bedroom leads out to a terrace with a table and chairs ideal for morning coffee.
Bedroom 2 has a double bed and Bedroom 3 has twin beds. They both lead out to a spacious sun trapped terrace which looks out towards Vestiaria church. It offers reclining chairs for sunbathing and a sofa set for relaxing.
Bedroom 4 has twin beds and is set up with toys, games and books for children.

A baby cot and highchair is available upon request.

A family bathroom with a bath and shower is situated on this floor. Both bathrooms have a hairdryer and are stocked with shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. There are two additional washrooms, one on the ground floor and one by the games area.

A separate laundry area with a washing machine and portable clothes drier is conveniently situated in the basement.

The games area in the basement includes; darts and table tennis. The basement also has ample secure parking accessible via an electronic garage door.

The back garden will be available from summer 2024 with a terraced deck furnished with seating, sun loungers and a hot tub.

We had a perfect stay in this very nice house ! We enjoyed the ping pong table, indoor and outdoor barbecue, big kitchen and jacuzzi. Very comfortable and functional - plus all the advices and recommandations of our hosts Would recommend to anyone!
