One of the coolest properties I’ve stayed at in Portugal! We stayed in the Presidential suite which has a roof top with a jacuzzi! Definitely worth the upgrade! Only negative is we ordered a bottle of Champagne to our room and it ended up being 125 euro and the food/breakfast even champagne wasn’t very good. So stay for the stay but eat elsewhere!

The place to stay.
Great location, great service and staff and great food. We discovered a flat tire on our rental car after we checked out and the staff contacted the rental car company and arranged a taxi and a tow truck to get the tire repaired. They went beyond!

Wonderful stay
our day was amazing the storytellers palace. The views were beautiful. We sat on the balcony and had coffee in the morning. We had one meal there that was outstanding. Overall, our experience with the staff in the hotel was very impressive.

Everything was great except for parking streets behind hotel parking is free but sometime it takes awhile to find a space on the weekends. Beautiful beach across the street. Many cafes in the area

This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. The staff was fantastic. The food was outrageous. Everyone was so friendly and so helpful. I can’t wait to return. If you are in the area, you definitely need to stay at the storytellers Palace…Marco the owner is just a wonderful wonderful person. We all had so much fun And it was a beautiful place to stay. Lovely looking hotel, staff were friendly and efficient but the hotel was far from sound proof. Unfortunately cannot recommend this hotel as we could hear all other guests conversations and coming and going throughout the night. Not what you expect at this price point.

Beautiful palace! All is renovated except they left wood work, windows, ceilings as original to palace. Amenities are high end and staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. We order food at restaurant and had great hamburger. Definitely returning back.

Storyteller's Palace is incredibly lovely, the history of the house, the location across from the beach at Sao Martinho, Marco, Ni, Miguel and the wonderful staff which felt like family, the incredible dinner and breakfasts too~!! We had a perfect stay here. The staff were absolutely charming and so helpful and friendly, anticipating needs and helping with queries/ bookings, even providing some masterful help with a tricky chess move! - we felt totally spoilt. Even the taxi firm they use has great drivers who give excellent tips on where to visit. The hotel itself is newly refurbished with great facilities and decor. You can see how much thought and care went into making it comfortable and stylish. Sao Martinho itself is a small family-friendly place for a quiet break, much needed after the crowds of Lisbon and Sintra. The hotel is a short walk from the railway station, and right opposite the beach, so you are treated to wonderful sunsets while having drinks on the terrace. Although surrounded by restaurant options, I would suggest you eat in for at least some of your stay as the quality is excellent, as is the breakfast. Overall we had a fab holiday here and cannot recommend it highly enough. I only wish we had planned for this part of our trip to be longer. It’s well worth walking the length of the bay to the huge sand dune at the end, and back over the boardwalks over the dunes. Nazare and the walled medieval village of Obidos are great day trips, only about 15 mins taxi ride away. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks everyone for making it such a lovely holiday.

The Storyteller hotel is a unique property with individual decorated rooms with well-known authors' names. Our room was very compact, but was really well decorated and beautiful, and seemed freshly renovated. The hotel is literally facing the beach, and listening to the sound of waves was lovely while I sleep.

Room and service was excellent. Missing in the room is an Iron. Shower was awesome with 2 rain showers and 4 jets but it floodedall the way to bedroom.
