Disappointing
The flat did not meet our expectations of a comfortable stay, nor was the price proportionate to the amenities provided. Leaving aside the bad first impression created by the dirty and rundown building where the flat is located, the flat itself was newly decorated and apparently clean. However, it soon transpired that the unpleasant and persistent smell in one of the bedrooms came from the broom cupboard and was probably due to bad piping from the toilet. The bin in the kitchen had not been emptied and was almost full to the brim. To cap it all, one of the oven trays was lined with multiple layers of greasy aluminium foil in an apparent attempt to do away with washing! The result was most unpleasant and, needless to say, we didn't use that tray. In terms of what might reasonably be expected from a comfortable stay, there were no wardrobes and no hangers in the two bedrooms and one even lacked a simple chest of drawers, which thankfully the other room did have. This room also had a built-in shelving unit that was no substitute for a proper wardrobe with hangers. The kitchen had very minimal equipment, in particular only one tiny saucepan with lid, another very small saucepan with no lid, and one frying pan. That was the sum total of the kitchen equipment provided, although plates, bowls, mugs and cutlery were sufficient and in very good condition. On a separate note, only having one key between 3 guests who came and went.

Spacious appartment near Loch Lomond
The appartment in Alexandria is spacious (2 large bedrooms) and equiped with the necessary equipment (toaster, washingmachine etc.). We had to make contact ourselves to receive check in information, but once the contact was established, we got all the info we needed. It is located near the bus stop (2 min walk) to Balloch. Helensburgh and Balmaha and less than 10 min from the railway station (Scotrail to Glasgow). Two supermarkets are only a few minutes away. The street can be a bit noisy in the evening/at night but the pub next door closes as 6 pm. All in all it was a good location for our purpose.

.... modernisierte Wohnung in einem älteren Gebäude
Die Ferienwohnung in der Patterre ist für einen kurzen Aufenthalt / Zwischenhalt in der aktuellen Form geeignet. Der Loch Lomond (Less) kann aus der belebten Gegend in einer kurzen Autofahrt gut erreicht werden. Die Ausstattung der Küche war ausreichend für 4 Personen (4 Gabeln, 4 Messer, 4 Löffel, 4 große Teller & 4 Frühstücksteller). Spezielleres Equipment wie z.B. Schneebesen oder Schere war in der Wohnung nicht vorhanden. Leider gibt es in der Wohnung keine Spülmaschine, so dass das Geschirr vor unserer ersten Benutzung gespült werden musste. Die Schlafzimmer (für jeweils zwei Personen), das Wohnzimmer und die Küche sind gut (groß) geschnitten. Der Esstisch in der Küche ist für 4 Personen weniger geeignet um selbstgekochte Malzeiten zu verzehren. Im Wohnzimmer befindet sich eine ausreichend große Couchgarniture, die zum Verweilen und TV gucken einlädt. Der Stauraum in Form von Kleiderschränken ist in den Schlafzimmern überschaubar, so dass ein längerer Aufenthalt anders organisiert werden müsste. Alles in allem eine ordentliche Ferienwohnung zu einem fairen Preis in der Sommersaison. + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + + The apartment in the Patterre is suitable for a short stay / stopover in the current form.
