I want to manage my expectations since it might be hard to run a historic hotel, but the experience is still quite disappointing. Hotel is clearly understaffed and there is really no service. The rooms don't include breakfast, yet it's quite impossible to order breakfast from the hotel restaurant due to the long wait. We had to drive somewhere else to eat breakfast. Booked two rooms together and they gave us two rooms on different floors. One of the room key cards did not work for the elevator, which caused a huge hassle for us to go between the rooms (we asked a receptionist to swipe the card for the floor for us and they were not happy). There is also no water in the rooms. Leaving the hotel tired and hungry.

The property is very outdated, needs some updating, front desk staff wasn't great, we traveled with out 2yr old and had to be calling over 6 times are them to put heat on as the room was freezing besides that why are they controlling the temperature of our room, I'm confused! The neighborhood is nice but paying $333 for the night was disturbing as the were uncomfortable the entire night! Bed is old, furniture is run down and bathroom needs renovations.

The property is in bad shape. The rooms are old and the flooring showed black mop marks from when they "cleaned" the tile. The bed was clean, however it had a huge sunken hole in the center. The hotel is also very understaffed. The valet guy was really annoyed and was complaining about having to work a double shift. We asked for an extra blanket and 2 pairs of slippers because the carpet was so filthy, but we only got a duvet (without any cover) a couple of hours later. When we wanted to check out, the poor lady working at the front desk was also having to run their coffee bar (health violation?) and was running back and forth. There is a lot of potential at this place, but it needs some serious investment and way more staff. Absolutely not worth the price.

The property is great and was very clean. Everything is updated and it’s almost like stepping back in time. Great location. Only problem was I did the online check-in and signed the waiver then got there and had to do the same check-in again. Was told I had to sign something but the “paperwork wasn’t ready yet” so we stopped back 20 minutes later and it still wasnt ready so we left for a few hours. Then we got a call in our room at 10:42 at night for us to come down and sign the paper. Needless to say this was a little irritating.

I stayed in Allentown for 2 nights. Every staff member I came into contact with, were extremely polite and knowledgeable about the city. I travelled to Allentown on business. The Property Manager was extremely helpful and engaging. My only disappointment was when I asked for a 1pm check out and I was informed of a $25 dollar charge. Typically in Hotels that I stay in this is usually never an issue providing availability, and if it allowed have never been charged for the additional 1hr. Nevertheless, I will stay at the Americus Hotel again when in the area.

Stay was very comfortable, I liked the later checkout vs rushing out at 10am esp since we were a wedding party. Bar stayed open to accommodate from the wedding. Room was clean, asked for clean sheets and comforters and received both and was actually blown away. Only downfall I can say is I was the only one who chose a third party booking and my card was changed a bunch of charges that I had no clue what were for once I got to the hotel and through the night. After contacting the hotel Monday and being hung up on I decided to see if they were just pending but speaking with accounting somehow these were charges made in error. But other than that beautiful hotel and clean.
