The floors are crumbling in places. We felt we needed shoes on all the time. Tiny shower but we had a great time in Munich and loved being so close to a lot of sights. The beds were super comfortable too.

We arrived prior to check-in and the employee allowed us to park in the hotel lot (underneath the hotel) prior to check in which was great. The staff members were friendly and eager to help. There is no air conditioning which seems to be the norm, but the windows allowed a nice breeze. Short walk to city center (maybe 10 minutes).

Disappointing Stay - Not Worth the Price
I recently stayed at Hotel am Sendling Tor, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Here are the major issues I encountered during my stay: The amenities were severely lacking. The Wi-Fi connection was weak and unreliable, making it difficult to work or stream anything. Additionally, there was no air conditioning in the room, which made the stay uncomfortable, especially during the warmer days. The hotel is way too expensive for what you get. For the price charged, I expected a much higher standard of service and accommodation. The experience felt like staying in a budget hostel rather than a hotel. The overall ambiance was dreary and did not justify the cost at all. It's clear this place is a tourist trap hotel, designed to take advantage of its central location while offering subpar services. I would not recommend Hotel am Sendling Tor to anyone. There are better options in Munich that offer a more pleasant experience and better value for money. Save yourself the disappointment and book elsewhere.

Disappointed the room smelled of cigarettes. Wish they had asked for a smoking/no smoking option. Room had a weird egg-chair as the seating option. No thanks. The good was the location. And staff were pleasant. No fridge, no coffee/tea in rooms.. expensive for what it was.

It's rooms are small and spartan. The shower was tiny (3'x3'). The locks are old fashioned keys that need to be used on both sides of the door. If all you need to do is sleep, maybe... but I definitely would not bring kids here.

The hotel is in a good area in Munich and walkable to restaurants, the Marienplatz market and a few other sites in the city. And we were able to secure a parking spot on location for 18euros per night. The room was overpriced ($300) for the condition compared to all the beautiful places we had stayed all over Germany. Room is very small, no AC or amenities on site.

I recently stayed at Hotel am Sendlinger Tor during EURO 2024 and was very pleased with my experience. The hotel's location is excellent, situated close to major attractions like Marienplatz and Viktualienmarkt, which made exploring Munich very convenient. The proximity to the Sendlinger Tor U-Bahn station was also a huge plus, allowing easy access to various parts of the city​. The room met all our needs, providing a comfortable and clean space to relax after a day of events and sightseeing. While the amenities were basic, they included free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV, and essential toiletries, which were sufficient for our stay​ . The staff were friendly and accommodating, adding to the positive experience. Overall, if you're looking for a centrally located hotel in Munich with essential comforts, Hotel am Sendlinger Tor is a great option, especially during major events like EURO 2024.

The location is very close to the main attractions, everything was walkable for us. For the price, it was an okay stay. Our bed and pillows were not comfortable, couldn’t really have a nice sleep while we stayed there.
