This was a slightly more expensive guesthouse than we normally book which is definitely reflected in the room, which was beautiful. Cleanliness was top notch, noted especially by how fresh it smelled which was lovely. The bed was comfortable but I must say the pillows were too hard for us.
Breakfast was a little bit of a let down as it was quite small but there was a lot of choice in the buffet extras.
We did have the room next to the front door as well which was quite loud at times. Also if I was being really picky it would have been nice to have curtains as well as shutters because we like a dark room on a night and with being next to the car park it was never properly dark. But overall it was a nice enough stay.
Had a delightful week long stay at the Ambleside Townhouse. Room was spacious and comfortable, breakfast was basic but sufficient and from the cooked menu they would provide breakfast how you wanted it, with swaps and omissions if need be. They catered well for my husband who is gluten intolerant. Lots of restaurants and pubs within a short stroll, we tried a different one for dinner each night. Parking can be a little bit tight but we did have quite a large car, saying that we always found a space to squeeze it into! Staff very friendly.
Fabulous location and lovely B&B with parking included. Breakfast was very tasty without being too heavy leaving room for more of the culinary delights Ambleside has to offer. We had fabulous weather when we were there so suffered a little bit from the heat at night but there was a little fan which helped somewhat but missed my own cool duvet from home
Manager Helen was lovely and easy to talk to. Breakfast options for a B&B was tasty and catered for all. Room was spacious (superior room) and very comfortable bed. Good temperature and pressure in the shower too. Great location to walk ten mins to the lake or 5 mins to town. Will be back again.
We can’t say enough nice things about this place. It was amazing in every way. The breakfast was delicious, the service was great, communication was spot on, the rooms were comfortable and cozy, the location was great and the views were amazing.

Stayed for one night for husbands birthday chose the townhouse from previous reviews. The service was excellent as was and breakfast.
My only issue would be the bathroom needed a few cosmetic improvements like the grouting was black in some areas and there was a water stain mark in the carpet. Apart from that the bedding was immaculate and the bed comfy.
The location and proximity to get into town walking and driving distances to other parts of the lakes. We were rightly situated for our walking break. I felt it was expensive compared to other B&B nearby.
The parking was a let down, it is only a suggestion that they allocate car sizes to parking spaces so everyone gets to park.
We stayed in the annex, which was nice, but would not want to stay in there in winter as it would be too cold.
Overall it was a nice experience, friendly helpful staff , nice breakfast and clean good sized room

It is a lovely B&B and very reasonable value, centrally located within Ambleside. There is also a delicious breakfast with a good range of choices.
