We had a lovely couple of nights here in November.
The place is very clean, comfortable and quiet, close to the centre of Ambleside and the owner and staff made us feel very welcome.
Friendly hotel with good location to explore Ambleside. Dog friendly and even though dogs are not allowed in the restaurant they set up a table in the lounge for you so your dog can accompany you and provide table service. Catered to my needs being gluten free and requiring soya milk and even made my decaffeinated coffee just how I liked it. Will definitely stay again 😄 xx
Great location for Ambleside and the Lakes in general (you can get buses, to other Lake District towns, from Ambleside so can park up and leave the car at hotel).
Really friendly helpful staff. Definitely would stay again if in area.
Excellent location with parking. The hotel was clean and the service friendly. The decor was very old fashioned and dated but sound enough, some light coloured paint would make the building a bit more cheery and bright.
Had a dog and told them and when checking out after 2 days was challenged that they were unaware we had a well behaved dog , it was on checking in form . It put a bit of a damper on our break tbh .
Hotel has an excellent location right in the middle of Ambleside. Very short walk to shops/pubs/restaurants.
Friendly staff, comfy bed, excellent breakfast. However the Hotel is getting dated and could do with a freshen up, guess it depends what your after and how much time you will spend in the room.
An excellent stay here lovely clean room fantastic breakfasts an the best hosts, a lovely location in ambleside with lots of walks and easy access to the lakes from the nearby pier. Highly recommend will definitely be back 😀
