Mediocre facility, subpar service experience
Choosing not to offer daily maid service is ok. Not informing customers of this up front, only for them to find out beds weren't made and no fresh towels delivered at the end of a long cold day at a football game, is extremely poor hospitality. Embarrassing. Pull out bedding was also not available and had to be requested after check in. An unnecessary inconvenience. Overall, just a general sense that the management is less than enthusiastic about providing a stay experience that feels like comfort is a priority.

Family Time @ Ames
Hotel is very clean - both lobby and rooms. The rooms are the most spacious you can find in Ames. We love staying there for that matter. The only reason for not rating it a complete 5 stars is that in the morning a family with young children had their kids running around and I could hear it in my room. Otherwise, it's a great place to stay and worth the cost.
